THE BUNDESLIGA: The Ultra previews the start of the new Bundesliga season as Bayern Munich host RB Leipzig on Friday Night Football from Europe with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
BAYERN MUNICH V RB LEIPZIG
7.30pm We kick off a massive weekend from Europe on Betdaq Betting Exchange with Friday night football! The Bundesliga and Serie A return this weekend, and European football is now in full flow starting here. We have an absolute cracker to kick off the weekend too as Bayern Munich host RB Leipzig in the Bundesliga. After Xabi Alonso’s Bayer Leverkusen broke the title run for Bayern Munich in 2023/24, normal service resumed with an easy Bundesliga win for Bayern last season. Now with Alonso gone, the path is clear for another Bayern title – RB Leipzig got themselves into a strong position to challenge Bayern in the past too; again they sold their best assets. Outside of Bayern; that’s pretty much the done thing in Germany unfortunately.
Nevertheless, we should have a cracking start to the league here. As you would expect with home advantage, Bayern come into the game as the odds on favourites. The home win is trading as short as 1.26 with RB Leipzig 11.5 and the draw is 7.6 at the time of writing. That price is a reflection of the gulf in class between the sides these days, and how backwards Leipzig have gone recently. They had a stinker last season and finished out of the European spots down in seventh – with that loss of income it’s hard to see them bouncing back too quickly either.
As I highlighted many times last season, the under-lining numbers from Leipzig were very poor. Their average xG created was only 1.26 which is a mid-table figure at best. They over-performed in front of goal to finish seventh, and you actually wouldn’t be surprised if they slipped further down the table this season. They conceded more chances than they created last season, and when you bring figures like that into an away game at Bayern Munich; you’re usually in trouble! I can’t see past a Bayern win here – no prizes for that given the price – and we’ll have to look around the side markets for some value.
As I said, although there’s no prizes for tipping 1.26 shots – I would happily include Bayern in any Acca this weekend. The market is also expecting an open and entertaining affair with Over 2.5 goals trading 1.34 – Both Teams To Score is 1.71 though which is a reflection on how poor Leipzig were going forward last season. I feel Bayern can cover the handicap on the way to winning here, and the 1.65 -1.5 goals looks cracking value to start the weekend.
The Ultra Says:
Two points win Bayern Munich -1.5 goals to beat RB Leipzig at 1.65 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
