BOLOGNA V GENOA

7.45pm There’s lots of Cup action around Europe this weekend, and that means we only have one Serie A fixture to enjoy for Friday Night Football on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE. Bologna host Genoa with the home side daring to dream of a European finish this season. It’s likely they will be outclassed in the end as they sit in fifth place with the likes of Atalanta, Roma and Napoli behind them but for the time being they have something to hold onto!

Bologna come into the game as the clear favourites, but they aren’t trading odds on. The home win is 2.16 with Genoa 4.6 and the draw is 3.1 at the time of writing. It’s easy to pick holes in these two sides looking at their under-lining numbers this season. Their performance levels have been very average, and they are both massively over-performing this season. Bologna start the weekend sitting in fifth which is incredible for them – they have basically been your classic mid-table Serie A side in recent years. However, their under-lining numbers would suggest that hasn’t changed. Their average xG created is only 1.13 and they are conceding more chances than they are creating.

Bologna have kept games exceptionally tight, and that has obviously brought them success. Only Inter Milan and Juventus have conceded fewer goals this season from everyone in Serie A. Obviously this has come at a cost when creating chances, but they are up against the worst attacking side in Serie A this season. Genoa only have an average xG created of 0.91 which is the lowest attacking figure in the league. Once again, they have been solid at the back and that has them starting the weekend sitting in 12th – pretty good considering their attacking standard is relegation standard!

The reality is we have two pretty limited sides here, and it’s hard to be confident in either of them. Both sides are conceding more chances than they are creating this season, but you have to give both massive credit for being so solid at the back and grinding out results. I don’t see home advantage or Genoa being away from home as a massive advantage or disadvantage for either side. Their figures at home and away are very similar.

I couldn’t make the case for Bologna being shorter than 2.16, and while I do expected a closer game than those odds suggest, it’s hard to recommend a home lay given the Genoa attacking figures. This game screams a very tight affair without many chances. I like two options here. Both Teams Not To Score at 1.7 and Under 2.5 goals at 1.51. I couldn’t put anyone off either bet, however at the bigger price I’m happy with Both Teams Not To Score. I don’t see many chances in this one!

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Both Teams Not To Score at 1.7 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
