FRIDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews Friday’s games between GLADBACH v WOLFSBURG and ATHLETIC BILBAO v CELTA VIGO both with recommended BETDAQ bets.
GLADBACH V WOLFSBURG
7.30pm After another hectic week around Europe on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE with Champions League and Europa League action, we return to the domestic schedule on Friday! We’re back to our usual slot of Friday night football with one game from the Bundesliga and one from La Liga. This is the start of the final weekend of action before we head into another International break. It feels like we’ve had a tonne of International breaks so far this season for the Nations League, and thankfully this one will be the last until March. We kick off the Friday night action in the Bundesliga as Gladbach host Wolfsburg. We have two sides here who finished in the top four for Champions League football between the 2019/20 and 2020/21 seasons, but since then they have both become mid-table sides. I know the German sides usually sell their best players after success, but they’ve both massively gone backwards – it’s hard to see them even getting close to competing for a top four finish never mind finishing in the top four! Both sides are very poor at the back, so we can expect an entertaining game.
Gladbach come into the game as the favourites with home advantage – they are trading 2.36 with Wolfsburg 2.96 and the draw is 3.95 at the time of writing. Both sides play an exceptionally open game, and although the market has Over 2.5 goals trading odds on I did expect to see it trading shorter than its current 1.53. Gladbach are conceding an average xG of 1.84 which is the second worst figure in the Bundesliga this season, while Wolfsburg are conceding an average of 1.48. That’s a mid-table figure from Wolfsburg in a high scoring league, but it still is quite a lot of chances to be conceding. Both sides are creating average xG’s between 1.4 and 1.5 so they have the talent to create a lot of chances. We should have an entertaining game here and I feel this game absolutely screams goals. The 1.53 offers a lot of value in my opinion and I feel we’re getting so much value here it’s worth a Max Bet to start the weekend.
The Ultra Says:
Five points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.53 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

ATHLETIC BILBAO V CELTA VIGO
8pm Next we go to La Liga to finish the evening as Athletic Bilbao host Celta Vigo. This should be an interesting game, and we have two sides heading in very different directions here! Athletic Bilbao are pushing for a European spot and they start the weekend sitting in fifth place. They finished in eight last season just one spot away from the European spots so obviously European football is a big goal for them this season. Celta Vigo have been really struggling lately – they finished in 13th last season but that was only three points away from the relegation zone and they were involved in that for most of the season too. This season they are going to be involved in the relegation battle again because they are currently sitting in the bottom three with only seven points from their 12 games. Their overall performance level is only -0.04 however, they are creating an average xG of 1.40 and conceding an average of 1.44. While they are bang-average figures if they can keep that level of performance they should avoid relegation again. There’s sides conceding a lot more and creating a lot less.
Athletic Bilbao come into the game as the odds on favourites – they are trading 1.6 with Celta Vigo 6.3 and the draw is 4.2. Bilbao have been playing some nice football this season – their average xG created is 1.56 which is the fourth best figure in La Liga at the moment. Their average xG conceded is only 1.28 too, which is only 0.06 off the best in La Liga. It’s hard to fault Bilbao, and they deserve to be where they are currently sitting in the table. The big question here is whether or not to take the 1.6 because Celta Vigo are clearly playing better football than their position reflects in the table. Bilbao have been very solid at home too, they actually don’t concede many chances at home. The Over/Under 2.5 goals market is very even here, however I see value in Under 2.5 goals at 2.0. I feel we’ll have a very cagey performance from Celta here, and with Bilbao being so solid at the back I wouldn’t be surprised to see a 1-0 Bilbao win for example. I don’t see many goals in this one!
The Ultra Says:
Two points win Under 2.5 goals at 2.0 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
