FRIDAY IN EUROPE: Our football tipster The Ultra previews Friday’s Bundesliga / La Liga games between STUTTGART v MAINZ and ATHLETIC BILBAO v GRANADA both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
STUTTGART V MAINZ
7.30pm It’s been a fantastic week around Europe with the Champions League and the Europa League on, however we return to our normal Friday night football slot on BETDAQ Betting Exchange with one game from the Bundesliga and one from La Liga! It was nice to land some good bets during the week, and hopefully we can keep the good form going through a brilliant weekend of action. We start Friday night in the Bundesliga with Stuttgart hosting Mainz. For the last two seasons, Mainz have always been ‘on the edge’ of a relegation battle but they have always comfortably stayed up. Stuttgart will be hoping the same thing happens to them this season, as they are definitely in a relegation battle at the moment. I say at the moment because they should have too much class to go down, but they are going to start the weekend in the relegation playoff spot and they desperately need to turn their season around soon.
This is going to be an interesting market, because Mainz have started the season very well. They are sitting in 8th, just behind RB Leipzig and just ahead of Gladbach – they probably couldn’t be happier with their start. They have been playing some nice football and look full of confidence. You might feel that they’ve been a little lucky given their jump up the table, but they should actually be higher looking at their performances. The xG table puts them in 5th for example. It’s no surprise here that we have an open market because technically Stuttgart are the bigger team, but I feel this is a fantastic time to back Mainz and they look over priced at 2.54. The xG table doesn’t give Stuttgart much hope going forward and that is a reflection on their average performances. They have conceded so many chances lately too – let’s forgive them losing to Dortmund, but they conceded an xG of 1.51 to Arminia Bielefeld and only created 0.52 at home and prior to that they lost 4-1 to Augsburg. Those are very bad signs considering those two sides are right beside them in the table. I’d have Mainz much shorter here, and given the gulf in performance level here I’m happy to have a Max Bet at 2.54.
The Ultra Says:
Five points win Mainz to beat Stuttgart at 2.54 with BETDAQ Exchange.

ATHLETIC BILBAO V GRANADA
8pm Next we move to La Liga to finish the evening as Athletic Bilbao host Granada. Athletic Bilbao are having their usual season – they sit happily in mid-table and they have been playing reasonably good football. They come into this fixture without a win in their last four games, but they wouldn’t have been unhappy with a 1-1 draw away to Real Sociedad and they deserved to win away to Espanyol – the game finished 1-1 but Athletic Bilbao created an xG of 3.77. Over all, their performances have been rock solid. For example, they xG table has them sitting in fifth behind only Real Madrid, Sevilla, Atletico Madrid and Barcelona. With home advantage here, they should be able to get the job done against a very poor Granada side. If we come back to the xG table, Granada are sitting rock bottom in that department – that’s the reflection on their performances this season.
With each passing week, Granada come under more pressure. They are going to start this weekend sitting just outside the bottom three, but only on goal difference. Even Levante are only four points behind them and they have yet to win a game this season. The good news for Granada fans is that we have a host of sides in the mix to go down this season and things are very tight at the bottom of the table, but it’s hard to get away from the Granada performance level as it has been so bad. They were very lucky to beat Levante in an even game and then they were exceptionally lucky to beat Sevilla – that 1-0 win was probably one of the luckiest results this season in La Liga! They created an xG of 0.07 to 1.84! I know Athletic Bilbao are heavy odds on favourites here, but they should be shorter than 1.53 in my opinion and I’m happy to back the home win here. Performance level wise, there’s only one winner here.
The Ultra Says:
Three points win Athletic Bilbao to beat Granada at 1.53 with BETDAQ Exchange.
