FRIDAY IN EUROPE: Our football tipster The Ultra previews Friday’s matches between RB LEIPZIG v KOLN and SEVILLA v ELCHE both including a recommended BETDAQ bet.
RB LEIPZIG V KOLN
7.30pm We have another fantastic weekend ahead on BETDAQ Betting Exchange! around Europe and we kick it off on Friday night with our usually slot of one Bundesliga game and one La Liga game! We start the evening in the Bundesliga with RB Leipzig hosting Koln. Despite Leipzig losing 3-2 to Bayern Munich last weekend, it wasn’t a bad weekend for them. They can hardly be expected to beat Bayern Munich these days, especially when they sold them their best players during the summer, and Union Berlin and SC Freiburg also lost meaning they are still within range of the top four. They will start this round of fixtures sitting in 7th but they are only three points away from Union Berlin in 4th. This is actually a massive fixture in the race for the European places because Koln are having a fantastic season and they sit above Leipzig by one point. The loser will be on the backfoot massively, while the winner will jump into 4th – the stakes are high tonight.
Despite losing 3-2 to Bayern Munich at the weekend, Leipzig didn’t play badly. It was a very open game as you can imagine with a score line of 3-2 but Leipzig finished the game with an xG of 2.67. That’s a good performance away from home to Bayern, and that continues their good patch of form recently. They went into that game with four wins in a row in all competitions, and they have been improving a lot recently from a very slow start. Although Koln are having a great season and sit above Leipzig in the table, this might be an ideal time for Leipzig to meet them. Koln were average at the weekend against Freiburg but grinded out a 1-0 win to be fair to them, however they were also average against Bochum before the winter break and their xG figures haven’t been great in general lately. I think everything lines up for Leipzig here, however they aren’t massive value at 1.5 – the market agrees with me. That being said, I still feel the 1.5 is worth a small investment as there’s still some value in the odds.

SEVILLA V ELCHE
8pm We move to La Liga to finish the evening as Sevilla host Elche. Once again Sevilla were found wanting at the weekend as they had to settle for a 0-0 draw away to Osasuna. That’s three draws in a row for them at probably the most important time for them in the title race. Real Madrid had lost to Getafe when they came back for the New Year and then dropped more points with a 2-2 draw against Elche – not forgetting the 0-0 draw with Cadiz in December. I know Real Madrid were very unlucky in those games, they created xG’s of 3.47 and 5.24 (v Elche!) but that opened the door for Sevilla and they just haven’t walked through. It’s a shame because Sevilla were the only title challengers this season, and I know Real Madrid wouldn’t have feared them at all, it would have been nice if they put on a little pressure just to see what happened. Despite those draws, they should really get back to winning ways here. Elche took points of Real Madrid away from home, but Real absolutely battered them – it’s not often you see an xG as big as 5.24.
The market is expecting a Sevilla win here with them trading 1.4. I feel they will win too, but the 1.4 is just a little too short for me to back though. They haven’t exactly been banging in the goals for fun recently, and Elche arrive into this fixture unbeaten in five. Elche have clearly rode their luck at times in that run, but that will bring confidence and they will fancy their chances against this Sevilla side who are creating chances but not scoring enough goals. Sevilla tend to start games slowly, but they do build up and finish games strongly. Apart from the Real Madrid game, Elche have been reasonably strong at the back and I can see this being a pretty quiet game. I expect Sevilla to win, but they will have to grind Elche down and under 2.5 goals looks worth backing here at 1.83. Sevilla have had under 2.5 goals in five of their last six games, and without them scoring too many at the moment we can see unders land again.
The Ultra Says:
Two points win Under 2.5 goals at 1.83 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange!
