FRIDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews INTER MILAN v ATALANTA with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
INTER MILAN V ATALANTA
7.45pm Friday night football on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE comes from Serie A this week, and we have an absolute cracker as Inter Milan host Atalanta. This is the first big clash of the season from Italy, and we should have a fascinating game ahead. After everyone played two games in Serie A this season, only Juventus have gone two from two with Inter dropping points on the opening weekend. Atalanta started their season with a 4-0 win at Lecce, but they were beaten 2-1 at the weekend by Torino which is a disappointing result. Although Atalanta are a top four side, there’s still quite a big gulf in class between themselves and Inter Milan. There was 25 points between them last season.
Inter Milan come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.7 with Atalanta 5.3 and the draw is 4.3 at the time of writing. These two sides finished second and third in the Serie A performance figures last season – both behind Napoli but we all know how poor Napoli were at taking their chances! There wasn’t actually much between them going forward – Inter finished with an average xG created of 1.66 compared to Atalanta at 1.61. There was a bigger gap at the back with Inter having an average xG conceded of 1.12 compared to Atalanta at 1.24. Inter massively over-performed at the back too; they were pretty exceptionally defending last season.
Inter hammered Atalanta 4-0 when the sides met here last season, and they also bagged a 2-1 win away from home too when the sides met before Christmas. It’s hard to fault Inter to be honest, and you can fully understand why they are odds on here. You can pick holes in Atalanta away from home too – they only marginally (0.01) created more than they conceded away from home last season. Both sides have had plenty of action in their opening games of the season – Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.69 which doesn’t make a lot of appealing in my opinion one tick shorter than the Inter win.
We should have a high quality game here, but Inter have been better at the back and going forward. Atalanta have been a good side, but they are never too far away from a mistake at the back and I can see that being the difference here. The market is obviously expecting goals with Over 2.5 goals trading 1.69, but compared to the Inter win at 1.7 I don’t see any value in the goals market here. It’s not one to go crazy about with the stakes, but the 1.7 on Inter is too big to turn down here in my opinion.
The Ultra Says:
Two points win Inter Milan to beat Atalanta at 1.7 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
