LAZIO V GENOA

7.45pm We kick off the weekend from Europe on Betdaq Betting Exchange with Friday Night Football from Serie A! Lazio host Genoa at the Stadio Olimpico in what should be a fascinating market between two sides desperately needing something good to go their way. The best word to describe both sides this season is lacklustre. As you would expect with home advantage, Lazio come into the game as the favourites at 2.14 with Genoa 4.4 and the draw is 3.1 at the time of writing.

Lazio are having a very poor season – they sit in mid-table, already 11 points adrift from the top six and European football. Their season is threatening to unravel completely. The Romans have lost three of their last four Serie A games, including a painful 2-0 home defeat to Napoli at the start of January. That was followed by a 2-2 draw with Fiorentina where they threw away a lead, then they were completely embarrassed 3-0 at home by Como which was perhaps their worst performance of the season. They’ve only managed three wins in their last 12 Serie A games. Not exactly the stats you want to see when considering a bet on a 2.14 favourite.

Lazio have really struggled to create chances this season – their average xG created is only 1.23 which is a mid-table Serie A figure at best. Genoa haven’t been much better; they are only 0.01 above Lazio on chances created but the difference is everyone expect Genoa to be hanging around the bottom half of the table and not Lazio. Both sides also have mid-table standard average xG conceded figures. The main positive here for Genoa is that they are on a decent run results wise; they are unbeaten in their last five and they had to play AC Milan and Bologna on that run too. They actually picked up a draw and a win in those games away from home.

Lazio’s confidence is absolutely shot to pieces at the moment, and while I fully accept that Genoa are an average side, the 2.14 feels a little short here. Lazio have been very poor in front of goal, and when you combine that with Genoa’s ability to frustrate opponents and keep things tight, you have a recipe for another disappointing result for the home side, in what has been a disappointing season overall! I expect the game to be closer than the odds suggest, and from a value point of view I’m very happy with the Lazio lay at 2.14.

The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Lazio to beat Genoa at 2.14 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
