HUNGARY V NETHERLANDS

7.45pm The Nations League continues on Friday night with two very interesting markets on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! Wales are back in action away to Iceland in Group B4, but we kick off the evening in Group A3 as Hungary host Netherlands. When this Group was drawn it was always likely that Germany and Netherlands would battle it out for the top spot, while Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary would battle to avoid relegation. That’s the way it’s shaping up at the moment with Germany and Netherlands both on four points while Bosnia and Herzegovina and Hungary sit on one each. Germany and Netherlands won very easily on matchday one both scoring five goals, while they drew 2-2 on matchday two with Hungary drawing 0-0 here to Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is a game that the Netherlands will be expected to win, but it won’t be straightforward given Hungary have home advantage. Netherlands come into the game as the odds on favourites but there are plenty of willing layers. Netherlands are trading 1.72 with Hungary 5.5 and the draw is 4.2 at the time of writing. Germany are the red-hot favourites to beat Bosnia and Herzegovina tonight, so the pressure is on Netherlands to stay in touch.

Hungary went into Euro 2024 as a very popular bet for many, plenty of football punters dark horses of the tournament after topping their qualifying Group and prior to that finishing ahead of Germany and England in their Nations League Group. The hype train was definitely derailed at the tournament however; they lost their opening two games and then scored a 100th minute winner against Scotland in their final game but they were on their way home early. They’ve definitely taken a backwards step recently, and they were absolutely played off the park by Germany in their opening game of this tournament too. Obviously you’d have to expect that Hungary will be stronger at home, however it’s hard to see past a comfortable win for the Netherlands here given the way both sides have been playing lately. I’m not going to go crazy with the staking – however the 1.72 is worth taking here and I’m happy with two points.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Netherlands to beat Hungary at 1.72 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

ICELAND V WALES

7.45pm We move over to Group B4 to end Friday night with a massive game for Wales as they travel to take on Iceland. Much like the game above, when this Group was drawn you would have expected Turkey and Wales to battle for promotion and then Iceland and Montenegro to battle to avoid straight relegation. Iceland can definitely get into the mix however; Turkey and Wales have four points but Iceland are just behind them on three. I did feel that Wales might have a few years of bouncing up to an A Group and then down to a B Group; but they might actually find it tough topping this Group. Wales were totally outclass in an A Group in the last Nations League; they only managed one point! Iceland managed a win here against Montenegro on matchday one but were comfortably put in their place by Turkey last time out. Wales started with a 0-0 draw at home to Turkey and then grinded out a 2-1 win away to Montenegro. Creating chances and scoring goals is something Wales have struggled with in recent years; who could blame them after Gareth Bale usually got them out of trouble for years and years!

We have an exceptionally open betting heat here. It’s actually the most open betting heat from all the games on Friday – Wales come into the game as the favourites at 2.58 with Iceland 3.1 and the draw is 3.2 at the time of writing. It’s hard to believe it’s been eight years since Iceland shocked England at Euro 2016, but that is when they peaked and they’ve really struggled since to be honest. They only managed four points in their last Nations League Group involving Israel and Albania after UEFA kicked out Russia. They struggled in Euro 2024 qualifying too, and I would say that they are a pretty limited side at the moment. However, Wales don’t exactly inspire confidence at the moment – especially in front of goal. I do feel we’ll see a very close game here, and the draw is a very tempting bet at 3.2 – however this game screams a tight and tense affair between two sides who don’t create a huge amount. Under 2.5 goals at 1.69 looks the standout bet here in my opinion.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Under 2.5 goals at 1.69 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
