SERIE A: The Ultra previews Friday’s match between final between SASSUOLO v FIORENTINA with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

7.30pm It’s the final weekend in Europe, and we kick it off with Friday night football from Serie A on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. Serie A have broken their final weekend fixtures down into blocks of who can achieve something and who cannot, and unfortunately for these two sides they both have nothing to play for here. Fiorentina currently sit in 9th with Sassuolo sitting in 13th. Fiorentina have finished the season in Serie A strongly, but they did lose the Coppa Italia Final to Inter Milan recently which would have been a massive blow.
Fiorentina have only lost once in their last six Serie A games, and that came away from home against Napoli so no shame in that. They have definitely been stronger at home this season compared to away from home. Only 20 points from 18 points is classic mid-table stuff really. Sassuolo haven’t been much better though, and they have finished the season poorly. They are without a win in their last five Serie A fixtures, and they conceded an xG of 2.33 against Sampdoria last weekend who are getting relegated. It must be highlighted however in that five game run they have had to play Lazio and Inter Milan.
I don’t see any major green or red flags in the home form for Sassuolo or the away form from Fiorentina. I know the Fiorentina isn’t a massive return away from home, but you have to remember we can judging a side sitting in ninth. Sassuolo have been playing better football than their results suggest this season – they are marginally creating more chances than they are conceding looking at their xG figures – however they aren’t taking those chances and they are conceding more goals than they should. The xG table actually moved them up into the top half of the table.
The xG table also moves Fiorentina up. They are creating an average xG of 1.5 this season and only conceding 1.2. They also haven’t been taking their chances though because their actual goals scored works out at only 1.3. Not a huge difference, but it does equal plenty of points. We have a very open market, with only ten ticks between the sides. Sassuolo are favourites at 2.58 with Fiorentina 2.68 and the draw is trading 3.95 at the time of writing. I have to say the draw jumps off the page here at 3.95 in my opinion. Everything points to a close game here, and while I know the sides have nothing to play for that doesn’t mean they won’t cancel each other out. I would definitely have the draw a little shorter and both sides a little longer in the betting.
