MONDAY LA LIGA: Our football tipster The Ultra previews Monday’s La Liga game between ATHLETIC BILBAO v LEVANTE with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
ATHLETIC BILBAO V LEVANTE
8pm We only have one fixture to enjoy in Europe for Monday night football on BETDAQ Betting Exchange but it’s a very interesting fixture from a betting point of view! Athletic Bilbao host Levante and although the visitors are sitting bottom of the table, they have played much better than their league position suggests and they have put together an unbeaten three run game. Could the tide finally be turning for Levante? If they managed to stay up now it would be the most incredible escape.
Levante were marginally lucky to beat Atletico Madrid and Elche, but they did finish the game with a higher xG figure in the draw away to Celta Vigo. Although Atletico Madrid finished with a higher xG figure, Levante were away from home in that game too and this could be a good time to take on Athletic Bilbao. The xG table puts Levante up into 12th, and if (highly likely) they go down they would be one of the most unlucky sides in Europe this season. As I said a couple of weeks ago, their task should be trying to keep the squad together and they will surely bounce straight back up given their level of play.
Athletic Bilbao crashed out of the Copa Del Rey last week and that would have been a crushing blow for them. They focus so much of their energy on a good Cup run, and they were going for their third final in a row. I felt sorry for them when they lost the two finals within two weeks of each other because of the delay with Covid19. It’s remarkable how they turn into such a good side in the Cup from sitting in mid-table in La Liga – they beat Real Madrid and Barcelona on the way to the Semi-Final!
Athletic Bilbao have been pretty solid this season. They sit around mid-table and that is a true reflection of their level. They do fall into the bottom half of the table on home form, and I’m happy to have a small lay on the home win at 1.62 tonight. I just feel this is a good time to take on Bilbao after getting dumped out of the Cup and Levante come here full of confidence. It’s highly unlikely that they can stay up given how far back they were, but those two wins and a draw have put them back “into the mix” at least, and they can dream for a few weeks. As I said, when you look at the stats they are clearly playing better than their place in the table suggests, and I can see this game being closer than the odds of 1.62 reflect. Keep stakes limited, but it’s a good value lay.
The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Athletic Bilbao to beat Levante at 1.62 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
