8pm Just the one game from Serie A on Monday night as Cagliari welcome AC Milan to the Sardegna Arena. AC Milan are having an excellent season and sat top of the table heading into the weekend round of fixtures. They will have sat and watched the massive game between Inter Milan and Juventus on Sunday evening, and while that is important – they have their fate in their own hands.

AC Milan have been excellent this season and have only lost to Juventus this season. That came recently and they got back to winning ways quickly. Cagliari come into this clash off the back of five straight losses in all competition and it’s been even longer since they won a game. They last won in Serie A all the way back in November with a 2-0 win over Sampdoria on the 7th. Remarkably they aren’t in the bottom three – they are bang in a relegation fight however as there isn’t much between the bottom five at all.

With Inter and Juventus having to play each other in this Matchday, this is a fantastic chance for AC Milan to strengthen their position as the challengers fall away. I’m very surprised to see them as big as 1.66 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange given how poor Cagliari have been and that price simply has to be taken.

Cagliari have been giving up a host of chances. Their xG conceded figures from their recent Serie A games read; 2.01, 1.08, 5.37, 2.61, 1.51, 1.33, 2.89, 2.75, 2.77 and 2.44. They consistently giving away too many chances and you can see why they are so low down the table. AC Milan have been top of Serie A this season because they have been scoring goals and creating chances for fun – everything points to an AC Milan win here and I’d price them at 1.45.
