MONDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews VERONA v JUVENTUS and VILLARREAL v CELTA VIGO both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
VERONA V JUVENTUS
7.45pm Monday night football on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE comes from Serie A and La Liga this week. We have two very interesting markets to go through, and we kick off the evening in Serie A as Verona host Juventus. We had plenty of draws over the opening weekend of Serie A with only four sides actually winning – those four included these two sides as Juventus won at home to Como and Verona beat Napoli with home advantage too. Juventus come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.73 with Verona 5.8 and the draw is 3.85 at the time of writing. Verona really struggled to score goals last season – their average xG created was mid-table level but they only managed one goal per game, which was which the driving force behind them finishing three points off the relegation zone. They still managed to finish in 13th however; that’s how many sides were in the Serie A relegation battle last season! As I said in my preview of the Juventus opening game, it’s going to be interesting to see how they perform this season. Their figures were quite average from last season, and they finished with a terrible run of results since February.
Verona would have been absolutely delighted to beat Napoli 3-0 on the opening weekend; in classic Napoli fashion they finished the game with a higher xG figure than they conceded but lost the game. That’s just what Napoli do at this stage! Verona played well though, and they will take a lot of confidence from it. Juventus had a lot of issues away from home last season too; they actually marginally conceded more chances than they created away from home last season. They started well against Como last weekend scoring three times, but Como obviously have their hands full this season having come up from Serie B. I think Verona will make life very difficult for Juventus here, and I couldn’t put anyone off a Juventus lay at 1.73 – I do expect a closer game than those odds suggest. However, I also expect a tight game. Juventus struggled to create chances away from home last season and Verona were poor in front of goal too. Under 2.5 goals is trading 1.83 and that looks a very nice position in what should be a game without many chances.

VILLARREAL V CELTA VIGO
8.30pm Next we move over to La Liga to finish Monday night football as Villarreal host Celta Vigo. This fixture comes up quickly for both sides with them playing on Friday night as well. Celta Vigo have made the perfect start to the season winning their opening two games – that’s a dream start for them considering they weren’t far away from getting involved in the relegation battle last season. This will be their first away game, and they face tough opposition too. Villarreal started their season with a draw against Atletico Madrid and then notched up their first win on Friday night against Sevilla. A 95th minute winner will always have the club buzzing, and they come into this game as the favourites. Villarreal are trading just over odds on at 2.02 with Celta Vigo 4.2 and the draw is 3.65 at the time of writing. Although Villarreal have had a very positive start to the season – so have Celta Vigo in fairness – I was expecting a much more open betting heat when I clicked into the market here. Both clubs finished within 0.01 of each other on average xG created figures last season.
Celta Vigo struggled to take their chances, but Villarreal massively over-performed in front of goal. Their average xG created was 1.36 but their actual goals scored average was 1.71. That masked over the fact that their average xG conceded was 1.71 which was the worst defensive record in La Liga last season. I know Celta Vigo had their issues last season – they weren’t far away from getting involved in a relegation battle at times last season – but I expect them to make this game closer than odds of 2.02 suggest on Villarreal. From a value point of view, I couldn’t put anyone off the Villarreal lay at 2.02. Another option is Both Teams To Score at 1.74 – both have had plenty of goals in their games at the start of the season and clearly made plenty of mistakes at the back last season too. I like two options here – the Villarreal lay and Both Teams To Score; I marginally prefer the Both Teams To Score option!

Two points win Both Teams To Score at 1.74 BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
