CAGLIARI V LAZIO

7.45pm Monday night football from Europe comes from Serie A and La Liga this week on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE. We have two interesting markets to go through, and we kick off the evening in Serie A as Cagliari host Lazio. This is a big game for both sides as they battle towards the top and bottom of the table – Lazio come into this matchday sitting inside the top four and getting into the Champions League would be a massive boost for them. It’s pretty tight between themselves and Juventus, along with Fiorentina – that was a big loss last weekend to leave the door open. Lazio have dropped a lot of points recently after putting five wins together back in October/November. Just one win from their last five Serie A games leaves them needing a win here against weak opposition. Lazio have consistently come up short against the top sides this season – it’s no surprise that this little run has involved sides like Atalanta, Roma and Fiorentina – it wasn’t so long ago they were hammered 6-0 at home against Inter Milan too. Cagliari are nowhere near their level though, and it’s not a surprise to see Lazio come into the game as the favourites.

Lazio are trading 2.08 with Cagliari 4.0 and the draw is 3.65 at the time of writing. Cagliari are coming into this one under intense pressure – they are sitting just outside the relegation zone at the moment. Lecce recorded a win on Friday night to jump over a few sides; Como are hanging around too but they are playing much better than their position. Cagliari’s figures aren’t that bad – their attacking figure in mid-table level, but their defensive figure is in the bottom five. The big issue is they are under-performing both up front and at the back – they have been very limited in front of goal. Lazio have the fourth best attacking figure and while they have been a little sloppy at the back too, they have been much better than Cagliari. I know Lazio have been a little unreliable recently but as I said above, they just come up short against the top sides. Cagliari is a major drop in class, and I’d have them as the odds on favourites so I’m happy to have a confident three point bet at 2.08.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Lazio to beat Cagliari at 2.08 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

GIRONA V LAS PALMAS

8pm We move over to La Liga to finish Monday night football as Girona host Las Palmas. This is another game that will have an impact on a relegation battle as Las Palmas battle to stay up. Girona have gone backwards a little this season, but let’s be honest – they massively over-performed to finish in the Champions League spots last season; it was always likely that they would go backwards this season. I have actually been surprised quite how backwards they have gone – for example their average xG created was 1.5 last season and that’s down to 1.23. They scored over two goals a game last season when they were banging in goals from all angles full of confidence, but that hasn’t been the case this time around! The positive thing to say is that they have improved at the back – they over-performed at the back last season, but their average xG conceded of 1.23 is a decent figure. They are basically creating what they are conceding though, and in nearly all of Europe’s elite leagues a performance level like that lands you in mid-table. The other major positive for Girona here is they have been much better with home advantage.

Girona come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.66 with Las Palmas 5.9 and the draw is 4.3 at the time of writing. Las Palmas finishes last season with the worst attacking figure in La Liga, so they were always likely to face a relegation battle this time around. They come into this matchday sitting three points away from the bottom three. Las Palmas have improved a little up front this season, but they have been very poor at the back. They have the joint-third worst defensive figure in La Liga this season, and that’s something Girona can definitely take advantage of with home advantage. That being said, the 1.66 doesn’t jump off the page as excellent value here given Girona have hardly been impressive up front. Under 2.5 goals is trading 2.08, and I have to say I’d have Unders as the favourite here – I can see this being quite a cagey game and I wouldn’t be surprised to see Las Palmas be very negative too. Unders is worth a small investment at odds against.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Under 2.5 goals at 2.08 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
