MONDAY SERIE A: The Ultra previews ROMA v SALERNITANA and EMPOLI v JUVENTUS with recommended BETDAQ bets.
ROMA V SALERNITANA
5.30pm Monday night football in Europe comes from Serie A on BETDAQ Betting Exchange where we have two superb fixtures! We’ve had an excellent race for the top four in Serie A this season, but results over the last few weeks have filtered things out. Juventus are in action later against Empoli but they are back in an excellent position now, while we start the evening with Roma hosting Salernitana as they are struggling for a top four finish now. It’s was a massive week for Roma last week as they managed to get through to the Europa League Final. It’s been quite the wild ride under Jose Mourinho so far, and he has the whole of Rome behind him! It’s hard to believe last season was Roma’s first major European trophy when they won the Europa Conference League and now just a season later they are in the Europa League Final against Sevilla. Thursday night was a classic Jose Mourinho park the bus game; Bayer Leverkusen had all the chances, especially in the first half, but Roma only need a draw after winning the first leg here 1-0. The fans and players must be buzzing, however they have dropped out of the top four race domestically in recent weeks.
Roma have suffered with injuries, and they have had setbacks in big games against Atalanta and Inter Milan. They’ve actually not recorded a win in their last five Serie A games now which is a terrible run at just the wrong time. Before Juventus got their 15 point deduction overturned Roma were one of the sides in a good position, but obviously that decision was a setback for everyone else as Juventus went straight back up into the top four. Roma come into this game as the heavy odds on favourites – they are currently trading 1.52 at the time of writing with Salernitana 8.2 and the draw is 4.3. Salernitana are a very limited side, but they have been good enough to avoid the relegation battle this season. They started this matchday eight points above the bottom three. They have been pretty average away from home this season too, however the 1.52 on Roma doesn’t make a huge amount of appeal – they have struggled for goals recently and it’s hard to argue that it should be much shorter. Under 2.5 goals looks a nice option here at 1.84 – Salernitana have an average xG of only 1.0 this season, and as I said above Roma have been struggling for goals so I can see them having to grind their way to a win here.
The Ultra Says:
Two points win Under 2.5 goals at 1.84 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

EMPOLI V JUVENTUS
7.45pm Next we have Empoli hosting Juventus, and the visitors have to pick themselves up after crashing out of the Europa League on Thursday night. As we saw in the Quarter-Finals, it was always going to be a tough night in Seville after Juventus only managed a 1-1 draw in the first leg with home advantage. They have been so strong at home in Serie A this season I felt that’s where the tie was lost for them – despite Napoli running away with the title, Juventus have actually recorded more points at home from the same amount of games. Away from home they drop out of the top five, and they have had to work a lot harder for their results away – they haven’t created as many chances. Empoli have a very similar profile to Salernitana in the game above; there’s actually only one point between those two in the table. They are an average side, they don’t create many chances and they concede plenty. They have actually been lucky at the back this season – their average xG conceded is a very high 1.7 but teams haven’t been taking their chances against them as their actual goals conceded works out at an average of 1.3. Up front they only have an average xG of 1.0, and it’s hard to see them causing Juventus much trouble.
Juventus come into the game as the odds on – currently trading 1.73 at the time of writing with Empoli 5.6 and the draw is 4.0. Empoli are unbeaten in their last three games, but they were very lucky to beat Bologna as they conceded an xG of over double what they created and the other two games were against sides in the bottom six. They don’t create much, and although most of the poorer Juventus performances have come away from home I expect them to get the job done here. The 1.73 is worth a small bet, it’s not one to have a big stake on given the away worry and the fact that they might have the Europa League Semi-Final hangover too. That would have been a tough loss to take. All that said, they should be getting the job done here – they’ve won five of the last six meetings in Serie A and won on their last three visits here too.
The Ultra Says:
Two points win Juventus to beat Empoli at 1.73 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
