EUROPE ON SATURDAY: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews WOLFSBURG v BAYERN MUNICH, BAYER LEVERKUSEN v KOLN and the Copa Del Rey final between ATHLETICO BILBAO v BARCELONA all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
WOLFSBURG V BAYERN MUNICH
2.30pm It’s another excellent Saturday in Europe with some fantastic games and with all bets 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange today, it should be a great day ahead. We have the Copa Del Rey Final to enjoy later, but we start with an excellent game in the Bundesliga as Wolfsburg host Bayern Munich. Wolfsburg are having an immense season and they are going to get Champions League football with such a big gap to Dortmund in 5th. It’s been quite a remarkable turnaround for Wolfsburg as they finished 16th in 2017/18 and also in 2016/17. I know it’s been a few years, but to go from a relegation fight to the Champions League is quite the achievement! Of course, Bayern Munich will have to pick themselves up after exiting the Champions League midweek on away goals to PSG.
Bayern didn’t play badly against PSG, and they really should have made home advantage count when they recorded an xG of 4.28 but could only score twice. They can feel very unlucky, but they still have a job to do to lift the Bundesliga title this season. Wolfsburg are clearly a good side and they’re having a fantastic season, but it’s very hard to get away from Bayern here at 1.97. I would have them closer to 1.8 as they have been playing some top quality football lately. Wolfsburg just haven’t been creating a huge amount of chances lately, and we can follow up our winning Max Bet on Bayern midweek with another one here.

BAYER LEVERKUSEN V KOLN
5.30pm Next we have a massive game in the Bundesliga for both sides, and for different reasons too. Leverkusen are pushing for that Europa League spot in 5th and they start the weekend two points behind Dortmund, while Koln have fell into the relegation zone and are now three points away from safety. Koln have been poor in recent weeks, but they were very unlucky to lose a massive game to Mainz last weekend. That put Mainz five points ahead of them and with Arminia Bielefeld and Hertha Berlin picking up points lately, Koln have been left behind. They need to find a win soon with the fixtures running out. They are three points away from 16th, and any more than that will see them in major trouble, if they aren’t already in major trouble!
Leverkusen would have been bitterly disappointed with a 0-0 draw last weekend against Hoffenheim in what was one of the most boring games of the season. The xG figures finished 0.10 to 0.24. At least Leverkusen created the 0.24 and not the 0.10! Looking at the xG figures you can see Leverkusen aren’t playing well at the moment – they were lucky to beat Schalke and while they created a lot against Hertha Berlin and Arminia Bielefeld they lost both games. The question is now, will they lose again to another side battling to stay up? For me, Leverkusen look very fairly priced at 1.68. You wouldn’t back them any shorter and you wouldn’t be keen laying them against Koln. We usually see very open games involving Koln and Both Teams To Score looks the value here at 1.78.

ATHLETICO BILBAO V BARCELONA
8.30pm We finish the day with the Copa Del Rey Final! It’s fair to say that neither of these sides have had a good few weeks. Barcelona lost a massive El Clasico last weekend when they had just got back within touching distance of Atletico Madrid at the top of La Liga and Athletic Bilbao lost the 2019/20 Cope Del Rey Final to Real Sociedad 1-0. I said in that preview it will be a pub quiz question in a few years time; “who played two Cope Del Rey Finals in the same month in 2021?” Athletic Bilbao will be hoping the question doesn’t include the words “and lost..” Bilbao face a very difficult task here because Barcelona have been in excellent form lately. It was surprise to see them lose that El Clasico has they have been playing superb football recently.
You can see how good they have been playing by looking at their xG figures, and it wasn’t a surprise to see them jump up the table. I don’t think anyone thought they would be this close after their terrible start. Even when they got knocked out of the Champions League, they actually played very well in the second leg – they had threw the tie away in the first leg in fairness. Bilbao are a rock solid side, but they aren’t even close to the same quality as Barcelona and I’m all over Barcelona here at 1.54. Even though they lost El Clasico, they played well and if they continue in the same form and creating the same chances, then this will be one way traffic. It would be a heart breaking month for Bilbao, but I assume they felt their best chance was against Sociedad.

Three points win Barcelona to beat Athletic Bilbao at 1.54 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange
