BUNDESLIGA / LA LIGA PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Saturday’s games between SCHALKE v RB LEIPZIG, HUESCA v REAL MADRID and JUVENTUS v ROMA all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
SCHALKE V RB LEIPZIG

Our old friends Schalke kick the day off as they host RB Leipzig in what should be a straightforward away win. Schalke broke their terrible run with a 4-0 win over Hoffenheim not long ago but you could see from the xG figures that they haven’t changed much and sure enough they have gone straight back to losing after that win! They’ve lost four of their last five, with a 1-1 draw against Werder Bremen breaking it up. Their xG figures have been poor, and they have only created the likes of 0.15 and 0.60 – figures we have got used to seeing with Schalke.
RB Leipzig will be disappointed with their season given the way things have panned out. At one stage it looked like they could challenge Bayern for the title, but they have lost a lot of ground in recent weeks and the Bundesliga looks Bayern’s again already! The 3-2 loss to Mainz was very disappointing, but they are still scoring goals and creating chances which is a very good thing coming up against Schalke. The home side will give them a host of chances and they should be able to cover the handicap here – I like -1.5 goals at 1.87.

HUESCA V REAL MADRID
3.15pm We move over to La Liga next as bottom of the table Huesca host Real Madrid. Although Huesca are in 20th position, they actually haven’t been that bad this season. In my opinion, they have actually adjusted to life well in La Liga. Their problem has been too many draws – 10 from 21 games! They did win their last game though, so perhaps that’s a sign that things are turning around. They will fancy their chances of a draw here too against a struggling Real Madrid side. Real lost further ground at the top of table last weekend, and now they have dropped behind Barcelona on goal difference. Both are ten points behind Atletico who are running away with the title.
Real might tempt a lot of football punters in at 1.5 today, but I feel that’s a little short against a solid Huesca side. Like I said previously when previewing Huesca, if you backed the team against them you would have lost 12 from 21 times. Even though they are bottom of the table, they are a side you are jumping to be against given how hard to beat they are. With Real struggling and Huesca solid at the back, I feel this game screams unders. Under 2.5 goals looks great value at 2.11 as I’d have it closer to 2.0 and it’s very much worth backing.

JUVENTUS V ROMA
5pm We move to Serie A next for a cracker! Juventus may have come out on top against Inter Milan on Tuesday in the domestic Cup; however a couple of weeks ago they lost 2-0 in Serie A and that has really hurt their title chances. They needed to win that game to close the gap at the top of the table, and they now sit in fourth one point behind Roma, and seven points behind league leaders AC Milan at the start of the weekend. They do have a game in hand so all is not lost, however they have a lot of work to do. In fairness, xG said they were fortunate to win the title last season so perhaps their place now is a true reflection of their standard.
This should be a cracking game. Roma like to play a very open game, and it’s no surprise to see over 2.5 goals trading at 1.6. I still feel there’s a bit of value in that price too, as well as Both Teams To Score trading around the same price. Over 2.5 goals will be my best bet however, as both sides come into this clash in superb goal scoring form and they also give away chances at the back too. Juve look fairly priced at the 1.8 mark – they have been playing nice football but I don’t see value at 1.8 given how good Roma have been this season. I feel we’ll get an end-to-end game here and I’m happy to be on overs.
