SATURDAY IN EUROPE: Our football tipster The Ultra previews Saturday’s Bundesliga and La Liga games between BAYERN MUNICH v HOFFENHEIM, HERTHA BERLIN v GLADBACH and ATHLETIC BILBAO v VILLARREAL all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

BAYERN MUNICH V HOFFENHEIM

2.30pm We might have a blockbuster day in Europe on Sunday, but we have three nice fixtures to enjoy on Saturday and all football bets are 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. We kick the action off in the Bundesliga with the Champions Bayern Munich hosting Hoffenheim. If last season was anything to go by we’re going to have a very entertaining game here! We saw two 4-1 results last season, with Hoffenheim shocking Bayern to win 4-1 when they had home advantage! Hoffenheim have started the season a little slowly but they hammered Koln 5-0 last weekend so they are heading in the right direction. With Dortmund playing some good football this season, Bayern can’t afford many slip ups – they only have a one point advantage at the top of the table at the moment.

I don’t think anyone expect Bayern to not lift the title come the end of the season, but it would be nice to have a close race for the title! RB Leipzig have dropped well off the pace after cashing in on some of their players, so it’s down to Bayern and Dortmund. It was nice to land a Max Bet on Bayern last weekend, but there won’t be a Max Bet on them this weekend as they are trading 1.19 at the time of writing. They should win here, but that price looks a couple of ticks too short for me. Both sides like to play an open game and we should see a lot of goals here – the market is expecting that too with over 2.5 goals trading as short as 1.23! Despite creating chances for fun, Bayern have been conceding the odd goal lately, and given how low the goal markets are trading I’m surprised to see Both Teams To Score at 1.68. That stands out as the value here – Hoffenheim can find the net at some stage.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Both Teams To Score at 1.68 with BETDAQ Exchange.

HERTHA BERLIN V GLADBACH

5.30pm We stay in the Bundesliga next as Hertha Berlin host Gladbach in the evening game. Hertha Berlin always tend to hang around the relegation zone but have enough class to stay up. I would suggest a similar situation would apply this season – but they looked worse than they actually were last season because of Covid19. They couldn’t play for ages so dropped to the relegation zone but once they played their games in hand they shot up the table. I’m sure they were under a lot of pressure to win and credit to them. They have been shipping a lot of goals this season – losing 6-0 to RB Leipzig and 5-0 to Bayern Munich for example. Gladbach obviously aren’t at that level, although Leipzig have been very poor this season, however they actually have the same amount of points as Gladbach the moment.

Gladbach have slipped down the table a lot recently. They finished in the Champions League spots in 2019/20 and then ended up in 8th last season, and they started this round of fixtures in 10th. Their drop has been quite dramatic but you can see why looking at their xG figures. They have been conceding way too many chances for a while now, I’m sure they’ve been working hard behind the scenes to fix it but not much has changed. Although Gladbach have been conceding a lot of chances, they might not have a major issue with Hertha here. Hertha even conceded an xG of 1.28 to Bochum and 1.68 to Greuther Furth who are the two poor teams – in fairness they won both games, as they should though. This one is all about the odds for me, and the 2.02 on Gladbach is just too big. They create more than Hertha, and although they are shaky at the back, they can win here.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Gladbach to beat Hertha Berlin at 2.02 with BETDAQ Exchange.

ATHLETIC BILBAO V VILLARREAL

8pm We move to La Liga to end Saturday as Athletic Bilbao host Villarreal. There isn’t much between these sides in the La Liga table, and it’s hard to see anything other than a very close game here. The market agrees too as we have a very open market, with Athletic Bilbao favourites given home advantage. Villarreal have been pretty average so far this season – and although they won 4-1 midweek in the Champions League against Young Boys, they conceded an xG of 2.74. Their best performance came away to Man United when they were robbed in injury time by a CR7 winner. In La Liga, they have been solid, but nothing more. They have had lucky and unlucky results, and 12th is probably a fair reflection of their performances to be honest. If you looked deeper into their xG results, you’d probably lean towards they have been more lucky than unlucky.

Athletic Bilbao are a little better than your average La Liga mid-table side, and they have performed very well in the Copa in recent years – losing in the last two finals, which were actually played within a couple of weeks of each other last season! They have been creating some good chances this season – their xG figures read 0.72, 1.93 (v Barcelona), 1.73, 2.58, 1.0 (v Atletico Madrid), 0.75, 0.95 and 2.48. When you compare the two performances, it’s clear the Bilbao look stronger at the back, and although a very close game is expected here I feel that will be the difference. The 2.54 on a Bilbao win is worth a small investment – this could be a cagey first half but open up in the second half.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Athletic Bilbao to beat Villarreal at 2.54 with BETDAQ Exchange.
