GLADBACH V BAYER LEVERKUSEN
2.30pm What a superb day in Europe! We have some top quality games today and we also have some excellent markets – don’t forget all football bets are 0% commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange today too! We start the day with a fascinating clash in the Bundesliga as Gladbach host Bayer Leverkusen. It’s fair to say both these sides haven’t been at their best this season, and they also come into the tie in pretty poor form. Neither side has posted a win in their last five games, and both have been conceding too many goals. Leverkusen will probably be more disappointed as they were in the mix towards the top of the table at one stage, but Gladbach have fallen down to 9th which is poor for them. This is a good chance for both sides to turn their season around however and finish strongly.
Gladbach have had a tough run of fixtures recently in fairness to them as they have had to play Man City, RB Leipzig and Dortmund – I would worry more about the performances prior to those games though and especially the low xG figures created. While Leverkusen have also been losing games, they have been creating more than Gladbach and that could be the difference here. My only worry is Leverkusen play a very open games and they do give away chances, but Gladbach have clearly struggled in front of goal and I think Leverkusen can create more. I expect a tight game, and I would have the odds closer together – for me the value call is the Gladbach lay at 2.56.
The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Gladbach to beat Bayer Leverkusen at 2.56 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange

BAYERN MUNICH V DORTMUND
5.30pm The highlight fixture of the day comes from the Bundesliga as Bayern Munich host Dortmund. It wasn’t so long ago that we were returning from lockdown and this fixture was Dortmund’s chance to make it close but they failed and Bayern won the title easily. Fast forward to now and Dortmund are well out of the title race this season. They out-performed their xG figures massively last season so this season is a return to the mean as they say but they have been especially poor – they have their work cut out for a top four finish. I thought Bayern had a title won a couple of weeks ago, but a draw and a loss means they are only two points clear at the start of the weekend and the pressure is on.
While Dortmund have been poor this season, they do come into this fixture on the back of three wins which is nice for their confidence. They came against Schalke and Arminia Bielefeld who are bottom of the table however and then Gladbach who are out of form. I said at the time we might see a dip in form from Bayern after a busy week winning the UEFA World Club Cup – I didn’t expect them to drop five points but they bounced back superbly with nine goals in two games, including putting their Champions League tie to bed with a 4-1 win. They look an excellent value bet at 1.68 to beat a poor Dortmund side this season and Bayern have to be a Max Bet for me at the odds – I would have them 1.5.
The Ultra Says:
Five point win Bayern Munich to beat Dortmund at 1.68 with BETDAQ Betting Exchange

JUVENTUS V LAZIO
7.45pm We move to Serie A next as Juventus host Lazio. Juventus start the weekend ten points behind league leaders Inter Milan and the task for them is simple – they just need to keep winning and hope Inter Milan slip up along the way. That looks unlikely, but they come into this game in good form and look good value at 1.97. Lazio came up well short recently in the Champions League against Bayern Munich, however they were very unlucky to lose 2-0 last weekend against Bolonga as they finished with an xG of 2.47. Bolonga are an average mid-table side however, and Juventus should outclass them here – I was surprised to click into the market and see 1.97.
Juve have been putting in some good numbers recently, but we also must consider that they have a massive game in the Champions League at the weekend. They go into that second leg 2-1 down against Porto; however they do have home advantage on Tuesday. Perhaps we could see some players rested here because of that tie, but given their situation in the league table I think we’ll see their best XI – they also have a game in hand so all is not long in their title bid yet. I’m happy to keep stakes reasonably low with the above in mind, but Juve are playing good enough football to beat this Lazio side and I’m happy to take the 1.97.

OSASUNA V BARCELONA
8pm We end the day with Osasuna hosting Barcelona after an excellent win midweek for Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey. They came from two goals down after the first leg to win 3-0 against Sevilla midweek, and they have also moved into second position in La Liga. They are still five points behind Atletico Madrid having played a game more but with Atletico playing Real Madrid tomorrow the plan for Barcelona is very simple. They have to win here and hope Real Madrid win tomorrow. If that happens then the title race is back on. If Barcelona fail to win here and Atletico beat Real tomorrow then that’s the title very close to won. A big weekend in La Liga!
Osasuna have had three massive wins in recent weeks to move away from the danger zone at the bottom of the table. They started the weekend six points away from the bottom three so perhaps they are not quite out of it, but they are in a very strong position now. Those three wins came against Eibar, Levante and Alaves which was a further boost for them with Eibar and Alaves now below them. It’s all well and good beating those sides, but this is a Barcelona side in good form and they look over-priced at 1.55 here. They are improving at the back too which is a very good sign – they only conceded an xG of 0.13 against Sevilla last weekend and I’m very happy to finish the day with 1.55 on Barcelona.
