THE ULTRA SATURDAY: The Ultra previews Saturday’s top European games with a huge day from La Liga and Serie A as Atletico Madrid host Real Madrid and Juventus host Atalanta, both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
ATLETICO MADRID V REAL MADRID
3.15pm We have a blockbuster Saturday from Europe on Betdaq Betting Exchange! This one is right out of the top drawer with the Madrid Derby from La Liga and Juventus v Atalanta in Serie A – we should have a cracking day! We kick it off with Atletico Madrid hosting Real Madrid – it’s just a shame this is an early fixture rather than a prime time 8pm Spanish kick off; obviously the sides have European commitments next week and La Liga have given them more time to recover. This is the first real massive clash of the season in La Liga – I know Atletico Madrid have been a little off the pace this season already, but we know the Madrid Derby is action packed. Real Madrid bring a little two point cushion into this weekend over Barcelona. Atletico had a rollercoaster game midweek against Rayo Vallecano, but pulled out a 3-2 win after being 2-1 down heading into the final ten minutes. It’s fair to say that they need to find something coming into this fixture, but there’s nothing like a Derby to bring out the best – especially in front of your own fans.
We have a reasonably open betting heat; Real Madrid come into the game as the favourites at 2.4 with Atletico Madrid 3.1 and the draw is 3.7 at the time of writing. While Atletico have struggled to win games this season – just two wins from their six games – their average xG created is still impressive at 1.73. It’s not at the level of Real Madrid at 2.25, but it’s decent enough to put me off backing Real at 2.4 here. Atletico have obviously been trying to keep things tight at the back, as usual under Simeone, and their average xG conceded is only 0.93. That’s a better defensive figure than Real so far this season. We usually have a very tight affair when these sides meet – Under 2.5 goals has collected in four of the last five meetings. Last time they had home advantage, Atletico grinded out a 1-0 win. Obviously have an exceptional amount of attacking talent on the pitch, but I do feel Under 2.5 goals offers value here at 2.36. I’d have that market 50/50 to be honest –it’s could be a lot more cagey than the odds suggest.

Two points win Under 2.5 goals at 2.36 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

JUVENTUS V ATALANTA
5pm Next we move over to Serie A for another massive fixture as Juventus host Atalanta. It’s still early days in Serie A given this is only matchday five, but you get the feeling that this is an important fixture for both sides. Juventus have made a very solid start to the season, but they dropped points for the first time last weekend away to Juventus. Atalanta weren’t viewed as title challengers coming into this season but they will be expecting to be in that top four battle; after a slow start with two draws from their opening two games they put back-to-back wins together. I think this fixture will give us a good idea where both sides stand this season. Juventus come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.94 with Atalanta 4.4 and the draw is 3.7 at the time of writing. There really isn’t much between the sides on paper here; last season they finished in third and fourth, just four points between them. There’s only 0.06 between them in attack on xG and a difference of 0.10 at the back. Everything screams a very close game here on paper.
Obviously Juventus should be the favourites with home advantage, but I’m not sure I would have them trading odds on. Atalanta have a decent record in this fixture – Juventus have only won three times in the last ten meetings between the sides in all competitions. Atalanta also finished last season with the best attacking figure in Serie A; I know they fell away in the title race when the heat came on, but they are a very solid and impressive side all things considered. Juventus have had a very positive start to the season, but their chances created last season was a big red flag for me, and it’s not like the figure is jumping off the page this season either. I would have this game a lot closer than the odds suggest, and from a value point of view I’m very happy with a Juventus lay at odds on. That’s a confident bet to finish the day!
The Ultra Says:
Three points lay (liability) Juventus to beat Atalanta at 1.94 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
