NATIONS LEAGUE SATURDAY: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews two Nations League Group Stage matches on Saturday both with a recommended BETDAQ bet. SPAIN v SWITZERLAND and UKRAINE v GERMANY.

SPAIN V SWITZERLAND
7.45pm We have a busy weekend of Nations League action after the European Play-Offs on Thursday night! All of the sides playing this evening warming up with midweek friendlies, and while it’s always difficult to read too much into a friendly, the game faces will be on for tonight. Switzerland are on the back foot in Group A4 after starting with a 2-1 loss to Ukraine, however they did bounce back with a draw with Germany which was a bonus given how strong Germany are; although they did have home advantage.
Spain are sitting top with a draw against Germany and a smooth 4-0 win over Ukraine, and a loss for Switzerland here would put huge pressure on them to avoid relegation to League B. Switzerland had a reasonably easy European Qualifying Group – it was always going to be between them and Denmark with Ireland struggling recently. They have come up short against the top side lately, and with Spain in good form the same will happen again today for me. Spain have been impressive for a while, and I’m happy to back them at 1.42 here.

UKRAINE V GERMANY
7.45pm This is the other fixture in Group A4, with a lot to play for. Germany will be very disappointed with only two points from two games – they played Spain at home and then would have felt like they dropped two points away to Switzerland. If Spain beat Switzerland and Germany fail to win here, they can probably wave goodbye to the Nations League Finals as they won’t close that gap. Ukraine are a solid side, but they just aren’t in the same bracket as this Germen side, and we probably seen that reflected in the game when they lost 4-0 to Spain.
Germany warmed up for this game with a crazy 3-3 draw with Turkey, but that was only a friendly and they will surely be much tighter at the back here. Ukraine shipped seven goals against France, and although we shouldn’t read too much into friendlies – that’s not exactly how you want to prepare for a game like this! They managed to top a European Qualifying Group with Portugal, but they are short of being top class and Germany can cover the handicap here. The 1.9 -1.5 goals appeals to me and is worth a small investment.
