SERIE A SUNDAY: The Ultra previews AC MILAN v ROMA with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
AC MILAN V ROMA
7.45pm We have a blockbuster from Serie A on Sunday as AC Milan and Roma clash on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! It’s been a fantastic seven days or so from Serie A; we had some huge fixtures last weekend and then more top quality clashes midweek. Napoli were the winners this week given they beat Inter Milan at the weekend and then won again midweek. Roma are right up there with them though – they both sit on 21 points! AC Milan went into the weekend sitting top of the table, but they had to settle for two draws and have dropped down to fourth coming into the weekend.
I don’t think AC Milan will be complaining about a draw away from home to Atalanta midweek, but they really suffered a blow to their title chances when drawing here against Pisa last weekend. They went into that game 1.31 to win, obviously anything bar three points is very disappointing. They dominated the game and finished with a high xG figure, but if they want to be challenging Napoli and Inter Milan for the title this season, they simply must be winning games like that.
This should be a cracking game though, and it will give us a good idea where the two sides stand for the rest of the season. Can Roma really stay in the title race? It’s actually been a while since they were a top four side! AC Milan come into the game as the favourites at 2.18 with Roma 4.0 and the draw is 3.35 at the time of writing. I know AC Milan have played some nice football this season, but I wasn’t expecting them to be that short when I clicked into the market. I felt we’d see a much more even market, even allowing for home advantage.
Looking at the under-lining numbers, there’s very little between the sides. Roma have an average xG created of 1.62 compared to AC Milan at 1.5. Both sides have been very solid at the back too; again Roma have the marginally better figure with an average xG conceded of 1.08 compared to AC Milan at 1.13. That defensive figure is the joint-second best in Serie A from Roma. Their performance levels are clearly impressive and it’s no surprise they are sitting towards the top of the table too. I feel the 2.18 on AC Milan is much too short here, and from a value point of view I’m happy to lay AC Milan. I just expect a closer game than the odds suggest.
The Ultra Says:
Three points lay (liability) AC Milan to beat Roma at 2.18 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE..
