BUNDESLIGA/LA LIGA SUNDAY: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Sunday’s top matches from the Bundesliga and La Liga with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

LEVANTE V REAL MADRID
3pm The big boys are in action in Europe today with the La Liga Champions kicking off the preview as they take on Levante away from home. I’m a big fan of Real Madrid at 1.54 here – they have started the season in good form and Levante were very poor midweek against Sevilla. They only created an xG of 0.14, and Real Madrid are a couple of levels above Sevilla. Real Madrid did what they have done a lot since lockdown – won 1-0 midweek but recorded an impressive xG, they created an xG of 2.37 and conceded 0.75.
They only beat Real Betis by one goal too, but xG said they created 4.28 and that was a very impressive display. Levante will more than likely try to defend and be quite negative here, but that will suit Real – they have built their recent success on being solid at the back, and grinding out close games. I’d have Real shorter than 1.5 here and I’m very happy to start the day with a confident bet at 1.54.

BAYERN MUNICH V HERTHA BERLIN
5.30pm So, hands up who was expecting Bayern Munich lose 4-1 to Hoffenheim last weekend? Not many! In fairness it was a busy week for Bayern, they had a tough game to Sevilla in the Super Cup and needed to go to extra time. I was expecting Hoffenheim to give them a tough game, but I wasn’t expecting a Bayern loss at all! The market believes they will bounce back quickly, with the Champions trading as short as 1.18. They weren’t a million miles off that price last week however.
I think we can forgive Bayern that shock result – it was quickly after a tough game with extra time needed. They will be back firing this weekend and we should see goals. Hertha Berlin aren’t a side who will make this a negative game, and their xG numbers suggest they are creating enough to score against this Bayern side. I like over 3.5 goals here at 1.63 and this game screams goals on paper, but stakes are kept small as there isn’t a huge amount of value on offer – just enough to make it worth backing.

BARCELONA V SEVILLA
8pm We finish the day, and weekend, with an absolute cracker! Barcelona may have had a dramatic summer with Messi in the headlines, new manager and players leaving – but now football is doing the talking and they have won their first two games while scoring seven and conceding zero. This will be an excellent test for them. Sevilla always tend to come up short against the likes of Barcelona, Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid over the course of the season but over 90 minutes they can mix it with the best of them.
Sevilla arrive in good form too. They have won their opening two games in La Liga without much fuss, and held Bayern Munich to a draw in the UEFA Super Over, eventually losing in extra time. The issue here is do they have the class to deal with this Barcelona side, and do they score enough to out-score Messi and co? I think that’s where they come up short, but Barcelona at 1.63 doesn’t tempt me in. I prefer over 2.5 goals at 1.6 in what should be an excellent game.
