BUNDESLIGA / LA LIGA PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Sunday’s games between CADIZ v ATLETICO MADRID, WOLFSBURG v FREIBURG and BARCELONA v ATHLETIC BILBAO all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
CADIZ V ATLETICO MADRID
3.15pm An excellent Sunday in Europe. We start the day with Champions Elect Atletico Madrid traveling to take on Cadiz. I really like Atletico here at 1.52 and I’m surprised they aren’t closer to 1.4. Atletico have been excellent this season, as their position in the table shows and Cadiz are there for the taking at the moment. Atletico bossed their game last weekend with a 3-1 win over Valencia and although Cadiz have adjusted to life well in La Liga, they have conceded seven goals in their last three games.
Apart from the Sevilla performance, Atletico have been putting in some decent xG numbers. They create enough to win games and they don’t give away many chances – they have always been tough to beat. Looking at the Cadiz xG figures shows their main issue – they don’t create enough. They consistently have an xG figures of under 1 apart from a few games. It must be noted they have managed to beat Barcelona and Real Madrid this season which not many teams will be able to say, but it’s hard to get away from Atletico at the odds here.

WOLFSBURG V FREIBURG
5pm We move to the Bundesliga next as Wolfsburg host Freiburg. Wolfsburg have moved up the table in recent weeks and got into the top four with a win over Leverkusen at the weekend. Given that RB Leipzig had to play Leverkusen yesterday, a win here would see them gain more ground. Second is the best position on offer, but it would be a very good result for a club like Wolfsburg. They meet a Freiburg side who should be full of confidence given their recent form, but Wolfsburg look massive here at 1.9. It’s my best bet of the day.
Freiburg may have come out on top last weekend against Stuttgart but xG tells a different story. They only conceded once, but they gave away an xG of 2.94. If they leave gaps at the back like that against this Wolfsburg side they won’t come away with a result – it’s as simple as that. Freiburg are consistently poor at the back too, with their only decent performance at the back recently coming against Koln, who are in the bottom three. The xG figures show they give away too many chances. I look at this fixture and feel Wolfsburg are the ideal side to beat Freiburg – they create a lot of chances and they generally don’t give any away. They should play an attacking game against Freiburg without any fear, and the 1.9 looks the best bet today on BETDAQ Betting Exchange.

BARCELONA V ATHLETIC BILBAO
8pm We move back to La Liga to finish the day as Barcelona host Athletic Bilbao. I feel there’s a couple of tempting bets in this game. It’s just about deciding which one offers the most value! I like Barcelona to win at 1.44, over 2.5 goals at 1.53 and Both Teams To Score at 1.75. You can see by looking at the xG figures that Barcelona have really improved in recent weeks. They might have left it too late to win the title, but they are starting to create a lot of chances and you can see that the wins have followed. It seems things have calmed down in the dressing room with Messi, and they are playing good football now.
The 1.44 on Barcelona is very tempting, as is over 2.5 goals – but I’m going to back Both Teams To Score at 1.75. I expect an open and attacking game here and Athletic Bilbao come into the game in decent form. They have put together some wins in the Cup, and put five past Getafe recently too. Their xG figures are good and I believe they can score. Barcelona’s xG figures have been incredible lately and I’d expect them to score a few. We’re starting to see xG’s of 2+ each game now and that’s very promising. I couldn’t put anyone off putting Barcelona in your BETDAQ Multiple’s this weekend but for me BTTS is worth backing at 1.75.
