WERDER BREMEN V STUTTGART

2.30pm Another very competitive Sunday of action in Europe! The way the fixture list is at the moment, all the elite teams are playing on Saturday’s while we get some very open markets on BETDAQ Betting Exchange on Sunday afternoon. This game is a perfect example, with Stuttgart favourites at 2.58 but Werder Bremen also under 3.0. After a run of 1-1 draws Werder Bremen broke the run with an incredible game! They lost 5-3 against Wolfsburg, but it was one of the most entertaining games I’ve seen this season. Stuttgart also broke a run of draws with a 3-1 loss to Bayern Munich, but that would have been expected given how good Bayern are.

We should have a very good game here. Both sides are pretty evenly matched for me, and I’m sure the draw will attract plenty of backers at 3.7. Both sides tend to play quite cagey games, although you wouldn’t know that watching Werder Bremen last weekend! The bet I like here is Both Teams To Score at 1.56. These two tend to always see a goal at both ends and while the draw is very tempting and I wouldn’t put anyone off it, the 1.56 just feels like too much value to ignore.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Both Teams To Score at 1.56 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange

SCHALKE V BAYER LEVERKUSEN

5pm Our old friends Schalke are in action again at 5pm against an in-form Bayer Leverkusen side. Long term readers will know how much I like betting against Schalke and we landed yet another nice bet last weekend as Gladbach covered the handicap with ease. I noted last week that there are some signs that Schalke are improving in the sense that they are creating a few chances. Even in their loss to Gladbach last week they finished with an xG of 0.77 which might not sound like a lot but it’s better than the 0.20’s for example that we have been seeing.

Leverkusen started the season a little slowly after selling their attacking talent in the transfer window but they have recovered nicely and now they are scoring for fun again. I felt we’d see loads of goals between them and Hertha Berlin but it finished 0-0 last weekend! They played well away to Nice in the Europa League midweek and their xG figures have been pretty impressive. They can easily beat this poor Schalke side who have been conceding too many chances. The 1.54 is a very confident bet.

The Ultra Says:
Four points win Bayer Leverkusen to beat Schalke at 1.54 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange

ALAVES V REAL SOCIEDAD

8pm We move to La Liga to finish the day as Alaves host the league leaders (at the start of the weekend) Real Sociedad in the Basque Derby! It’s fair to say that it has been a La Liga season like no other already this season; it looks like Real Madrid and Barcelona are within touching distance of the rest of the league and Real Sociedad have become unlikely “title challengers.” If they want to keep that new tag, they simply have to win games like this. Alaves managed to beat Real Madrid last weekend however, but with Real having such an odd season it’s hard to know what to make of that.

Whatever happens this will be a tough test for Sociedad. It’s a Derby so we can expect a tough game, and Alaves are unbeaten in their last five. It will be very interesting to see how Sociedad get on tonight. When I look at the Sociedad xG figures, you can’t help but be impressed. The volume of chances they are creating is excellent, and while they might have a few unlucky draws if they keep playing the way they are then it will take a good side to stop them. I feel that they are worth backing at 1.96 tonight as that looks ten ticks too big in my opinion.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Real Sociedad to beat Alaves at 1.96 on BETDAQ Betting Exchange
