SUNDAY EURO HIGHLIGHTS: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews three high profile European games on Sunday ….. in the Bundesliga RB LEIPZIG v MAINZ and WOLFSBURG v BAYER LEVERKUSEN followed by REAL SOCIEDAD V REAL MADRID in La Liga. All with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

RB LEIPZIG V MAINZ
2.30pm It’s great to have the Bundesliga back this weekend and we’re all set for an excellent Sunday afternoon. RB Leipzig would have gained a few new fans for their Champions League run last season in which they played some attractive football. They’ll be hoping to try and get past Dortmund this season and into second position in the Bundesliga – it seems unreasonable at the moment that they can get past Bayern!
They should start their season with a win here and I like them at 1.4. Mainz were poor last season finishing down in 13th and I’d expect them to finish in and around the same position. Leipzig hammered them here last season with an xG of 4.7! Timo Werner will be a big loss for them this season having scored just over one third of their league goals last season but that won’t matter against Mainz. A confident home win is expected win.

WOLFSBURG V BAYER LEVERKUSEN
5pm This is another cracking Sunday afternoon fixture as Wolfsburg host Bayer Leverkusen. When you have a quick look at the Bundesliga table from last season you might think there won’t be much between the sides as Wolfsburg finished 7th and Leverkusen 5th, however there was a huge gap between the top five and the rest last season. Leverkusen finished 14 points ahead of Wolfsburg. I find this fixture fascinating as Wolfsburg were excellent at the back last season, however Leverkusen were the fourth best side going forward!
What might decide things today is Leverkusen being without Havertz and Volland. That’s a big amount of goals gone and with Wolfsburg so solid at the back, I think Leverkusen are more than a little short at 2.54 today. The Wolfsburg win is actually very tempting at 3.0, however they do like to keep things tight and as it’s the first weekend we might see a pretty slow start here. I prefer the Leverkusen lay at the odds.

REAL SOCIEDAD V REAL MADRID
8pm We move over to La Liga to finish the day with Real Madrid back in action after missing the opening weekend. Real Madrid are in the headlines in England with the move of Gareth Bale to Spurs, but the reality is they will be happy to see him gone. He never fitted into the Real system and always had problems with the dressing room and managers. The sign “Wales. Golf. Madrid. In that order” after Wales won was probably the last straw. It’s been a while since he was in the starting XI, so while it’s news in England, I highly doubt many in Madrid are bothered. Real face a tough opening game against Sociedad who played last weekend.
I was very disappointed to see Sociedad fail to beat Valladolid after having a decent bet on them, but we had a lot of low scoring games on the opening weekend, and some mad results like 4-2 too! The reality is Sociedad only created an xG of 0.3 last weekend and that was very poor. They are generally good at the back, and so are Real who built their La Liga success on being so solid at the back. Under 2.5 goals looks the value call here at 2.14 in what should be a very close game. I had unders closer to 2.0.
