FIFA CLUB WORLD CUP FINAL: The Ultra previews CHELSEA v PSG with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
CHELSEA V PSG
8pm It’s Final time at the FIFA Club World Cup on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE as Chelsea and PSG clash on Sunday night! Whether or not this tournament has been a success for FIFA is a debate we might have for a while, but despite it being a global tournament it is a fitting end that we have two of the major European trophy winners in the Final. PSG have clearly been the best side in Europe this season, and they have hammered all the top sides they have faced in this tournament too. Chelsea finished the Premier League strongly and then won the Europa Conference League – they have clearly benefited from the top half of the draw being quite weak and Manchester City exiting at the Last 16 stage too, but they are a top club and this should be a good game.
It’s no surprise given how good PSG have been playing to see them come into this game as the odds on favourites. PSG are trading 1.69 with Chelsea 5.5 and the draw is 4.3 at the time of writing. We come into the Final in the excellent position of landing two confident bets in the Semi-Finals; a Five Star NAP on Chelsea to beat Fluminense and a confident three point bet on PSG to beat Real Madrid. Hopefully we can keep that winning run going and finish the tournament on a high now!
It’s hard to get away from PSG here. They have been playing some exceptionally good football – even in the shock 1-0 loss against Botafogo at the Group stage, they finished that game with 75% possession and an xG of over 2.0. Just in this tournament, they’ve hammered Atletico Madrid 4-0, Inter Miami 4-0, Bayern Munich 2-0 and Real Madrid 4-0! As I have said at this tournament before, it’s hard to take an average because of the gulf in class between the sides in some games. However, PSG have an average xG created is just under 2.0 and their average conceded is only 1.0 and given their opposition compared to everyone else that is seriously impressive. Their road here has been much more difficult compared to Chelsea.
As I said above, Chelsea benefitted hugely from being in the top half of the draw but you can only beat what is put in front of you. Benfica did beat Bayern Munich to face Chelsea in the Last 16 after all – however, who wouldn’t take a knockout draw of Benfica, Palmeiras and Fluminense to get to a Final. You could even make the argument that Chelsea haven’t been fully at this tournament really – on paper they would have been expected to beat all of those sides but they do have a wealth of experience in their squad to step up for big games.
I respect the fact that Chelsea have finished the 2024/25 season strongly, but in my opinion PSG are on a completely different level. They are playing the stronger football and confidence must be sky high after the Champions League win plus beating Bayern Munich and Real Madrid in this tournament. I just can’t see past a PSG win here given their form at the moment, and at 1.69 I’m happy with a Five Star NAP to finish the tournament!
