SUNDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews Sunday’s matches between REAL MADRID v BARCELONA, BAYERN MUNICH v FREIBURG, PSG v MARSEILLE all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

REAL MADRID V BARCELONA

3.15pm What a Sunday ahead around Europe on BETDAQ Betting Exchange! We have top class action from La Liga, the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 to enjoy today, and what better way to start it than with El Clasico! Although this is always a blockbuster event, I have to say I don’t really like the 3-15pm time – I know La Liga usually use this time when there is a fixture backlog, and indeed we have midweek La Liga fixtures too so it’s understandable but for me this fixture should always take prime spot at 8pm on a Sunday evening. This year it’s just a knock on effect of the domestic leagues having to get fixtures in because of the break for the World Cup in Qatar. The time won’t take away from the game though, and this is a huge fixture. Real Madrid will be kicking themselves to have dropped points at home to Osasuna when they returned from the International break. They didn’t deserve to draw however as they created an xG of 2.87 and in general in La Liga this season they have been creating some hugely impressive xG figures. Their performance midweek in the Champions League was a little flat against Shakhtar Donetsk but they probably had one eye on this fixture because they will very likely top their Champions League Group anyway.

Barcelona also had to settle for a draw midweek in the Champions League with a very entertaining and dramatic 3-3 draw against Inter Milan. That leaves them in a very difficult position in the Champions League given Bayern Munich will top that Group. They need to beat Bayern because they are three points behind Inter Milan – at the moment Barcelona are heading to the Europa League again! They did get a tricky Group, and to be fair they have been absolutely fantastic in La Liga this season. They have been creating some superb xG figures and look to have recovered from their woeful season last year. This should be a highly entertaining game between two sides who have been attacking all season – surely we will see goals! I don’t have a strong opinion on the match odds market, but Over 2.5 goals stands out here at 1.64. I thought we’d see it trading sub 1.5 given how many chances both sides have been creating this season, and I’m happy to have a Max Bet at the odds.

The Ultra Says:
Five points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.64 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

BAYERN MUNICH V FREIBURG

6.30pm Next we move over to the Bundesliga as the German Champions Bayern Munich host Freiburg. Bayern played out a very entertaining 2-2 draw with Dortmund last weekend however from their point of view it would have been a very disappointing result. They were 2-0 up heading into the final 20 minutes and ended up conceding in the 95th minute for 2-2. Obviously the Dortmund fans went crazy and it was brilliant scenes, but from a Bayern point of view they should have closed that one out. It’s fair to say that they haven’t been at their best this season, their xG figures haven’t been fantastic and they have already dropped plenty of points in the Bundesliga. I still feel that they will lift the title though, it just might be a closer race this season. That being said, I said that two weeks ago and then Bayern won their fixture and pretty much everyone important above them lost! It’s highly likely that Union Berlin will come back to them, but Bayern started the weekend sitting four points behind the league leaders. This fixture won’t be easy either – Freiburg have made a lot of progress in recent years and they actually started this weekend sitting above Bayern in second. They have managed to collect two more points than Bayern from their nine games, and have been playing some very nice football. For example, on average they have been creating an xG of 1.7 per game this season and only conceding 1.1. Very solid figures, and they should cause Bayern problems here because they have been leaking a lot of sloppy goals this season.

Bayern definitely feel a little short here at 1.3, and although it’s generally not a really good idea to be against Bayern in the Bundesliga we did land a nice lay on them this season against Union Berlin. That came away from home however, and it’s probably a different story at home. That being said, it’s hard to get away from a small lay on Bayern here at the odds. I fully expect a closer game than 1.3 suggest because Freiburg have been very impressive this season. I fully take on board that this might be a step too far for them, but betting is all about getting value and I feel we’ll are getting good value with the Bayern lay here. If they had more impressive xG figures this season I wouldn’t pull the trigger but they haven’t exactly been creating a host of chances like they usually would. This should be a reasonably close game in my opinion.

The Ultra Says:
One point lay (liability) Bayern Munich to beat Freiburg at 1.3 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

PSG V MARSEILLE

8pm Finally we move over to France as PSG host Marseille in Ligue 1. There seems to be a lot going on at PSG at the moment, but then again when is there not? Although they are still unbeaten this season, they only started the weekend one point ahead of Lorient and three ahead of Marseille. As always with PSG, there has been more drama off the pitch than on the pitch. Once again, egos are clashing and the latest news is Mbappe wants to quit the club after signing a massive contract in the summer. From an outsider point of view, Messi has really improved this season and possibly taken the limelight away from Mbappe – this seems like Mbappe throwing his toys out of the pram again. Apparently the party line is that he is unhappy with the position the manager is playing him in, but we all know he has had an issue with Neymar Jr for a while now. Looking at Mbappe as a fan, he is clearly very talented but is he worth the trouble? Most clubs will have to weigh up that decision, plus the fact his wage bill will be massive. For a young man, he seems to have huge issues with his ego and at the moment, you’d say he isn’t a team player either.

Mbappe drama aside, PSG have been playing some nice football this season however they do come into this game without a win in three games. Two of those fixtures came in the Champions League with two 1-1 draws against Benfica, and then in between that they threw in another average performance against Reims. To be honest their xG figures have been nothing to write home about recently, and they do feel a little short here at 1.38. Marseille have been rock solid this season, and granted you’d have say that no side in Ligue 1 is at the same level as PSG I do feel we’ll have a closer game than odds of 1.38 reflect here. I’m going to keep stakes small, but the 1.38 is a nice good value lay on PSG in my opinion. I just expect a closer game than the odds suggest.

The Ultra Says:
One point lay (liability) PSG to beat Marseille at 1.38 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
