LA LIGA AND BUNDESLIGA: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Sunday’s games between ATLETICO MADRID v REAL MADRID, ARMINIA BIELEFELD v UNION BERLIN and ATHLETIC BILBAO v GRANADA with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
ATLETICO MADRID V REAL MADRID
3.15pm What a way to start Sunday in Europe! I’m a little bit sad this fixture doesn’t kick off at 8pm so everyone can enjoy it as it bumps into other sport at this time – but what a huge fixture to enjoy on a Sunday afternoon. Make no mistake, this is a title decider. Atletico are five points ahead of Real Madrid with a game in hand – Real Madrid simply have to win to have any chance of claiming the title. Barcelona, who played late last night, will want Real to win too. Atletico probably just have to avoid defeat given the game in hand, but Real Madrid came out on top when the sides met earlier in the season. As you can imagine, we have a pretty open market on BETDAQ Betting Exchange with Atletico the favourites at 2.66.
Real Madrid will be kicking themselves to lose further ground on Monday night with a 1-1 draw with Real Sociedad – they would have loved to be a little closer before this game for more pressure. You can certainly see the pressure getting to Atletico in recent weeks. They had a wobble when drawing twice and losing to Levante – and while they did get back to winning ways against Villarreal at the weekend they actually didn’t play well. xG said Villarreal should have won. Real created enough to beat Sociedad on Monday and they had been putting in some good xG figures recently. I feel on balance here the value is with the Atletico lay at 2.66. The Real win is tempting at 3.0, but I’d like to have the draw on my side too.

ARMINIA BIELEFELD V UNION BERLIN
5.30pm We move to the Bundesliga next for a massive game for Arminia Bielefeld as they host Union Berlin. It will be very tough for Arminia Bielefeld to beat Union Berlin who are having a solid season, however after Mainz could only draw with Schalke on Friday night. That left Mainz, Armina Bielefeld and Hertha Berlin all on 18 points going into the weekend. Arminia Bielefeld are in a relatively strong position because they have two games in hand on Mainz now, but they have to get some points from them. They have had a tough fixture list recently and they will be looking forward to playing “easier” teams – they have had to play Dortmund, Wolfsburg, Bayern Munich (although they did draw!) and Eintracht Frankfurt.
This is probably a great time for Arminia Bielefeld to play Union Berlin as they have only had one win in their last six. They have lost to Mainz and only drew 0-0 with Schalke too. You can see the issue looking at their xG figures because they aren’t creating enough chances. Obviously Arminia Bielefeld are a very limited side and their place in the table reflects that, but I think they have a decent chance of getting a result. Union Berlin aren’t in flying form, and while they might outclass them I feel they should be a bigger price at 2.06 here and I’m happy to have a small lay.

ATHLETIC BILBAO V GRANADA
8pm We move back to La Liga to finish a brilliant Sunday as Athletic Bilbao host Granada. Athletic Bilbao got into the Copa Del Rey Final midweek with a 2-1 win over Levante and they now have the unusual position of being in two Copa Del Rey Finals this season after the 2020 one was moved to 2021. They will be delighted to play Real Sociedad in the 2020 Final compared to Barcelona this season! This should be a good game between two solid sides. There isn’t much between them in the table, and there shouldn’t be much between them on the pitch either. Bilbao definitely come into the game in better form however.
Granada have been struggling at the back recently, and that should give Bilbao the edge. However, I feel that is reflected in the market as the 1.62 doesn’t jump off the page as big value. I think the odds are priced very fairly. The bet I like is Both Teams To Score at 2.2. Both sides have had this happen quite a lot lately and I expect a pretty open game. While Granada give away a lot of chances, they create enough to score and Bilbao usually concede a goal per game. I’d have Both Team To Score closer to 2.0 and the 2.2 is worth taking.
