SUNDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews REAL MADRID v REAL BETIS and INTER MILAN v BOLOGNA both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
REAL MADRID V REAL BETIS
3.15pm We have a wonderful Sunday from Europe on Betdaq Betting Exchange! We have two excellent fixtures from La Liga and Serie A to enjoy with Real Madrid and Inter Milan both headlining. We kick the day off in La Liga with Real Madrid hosting Real Betis – Real have work to do after the Christmas break in Spain as they sit four points behind Barcelona. It’s fair to say that they went through a bit of a crisis – we had rumours that the player weren’t happy with the manager and that came at the same time as a run of three La Liga games without a win. After the 2-0 loss at home to Celta Vigo, they had managed to turn a five point advantage over Barcelona into a four point deficit. The stories coming out were the players were unhappy with the amount of work they were made to do in training by Alonso, and to be honest that line really never gets the fans on your side. Anyone who looked at the under-lining numbers though knew Real were still playing well – they just went through a terrible run of luck really. They finished nearly every game they dropped points in with an xG of over 2.0 – you wouldn’t get that level of chances created if Alonso had lost the dressing room in my opinion.
The ship seems to have been steadied by back-to-back wins before Christmas, and this is a game that they will be expected to win. It’s no surprise that they come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.51 with Real Betis 6.8 and the draw is 5.1 at the time of writing. While Real Betis are quite a few points behind Real in the table – they actually sit behind them on attacking figures. Barcelona and Real Madrid are miles clear this season, but Real Betis have been the third best attacking side in La Liga this season! We should have an entertaining game here then, but the problem for Betis is that they have been conceding far too many chances – if anything the 1.51 on Real looks big here. Another option has to be Over 2.5 goals at the same price – I couldn’t put anyone off that bet to be honest given given they are both trading the same odds, I feel there’s marginally more value in the Real win given the volume of chances they have been creating this season and home advantage here.

INTER MILAN V BOLOGNA
7.45pm We move over to Serie A to finish Sunday as Inter Milan host Bologna. This is a repeat of the recent Italian Super Cup Semi-Final in Saudi Arabia – that game went to penalties with Bologna coming out on top. Bologna have struggled a little to get results in Serie A this season, and although they have a game in hand now because of the time spent in Saudi Arabia; they are currently sitting outside the European spots. Inter Milan kept top spot, but the two sides chasing them – AC Milan and Napoli – were also in Saudi Arabia too! There’s no doubt that Inter have played the best football in Italy this season, and to be honest I expect them to pull away a little at the top of the table between now and the next International Break in March. They have the best attacking figure with an average xG created of 1.88 and they also have the best defensive figure with an average xG conceded of 1.04. They are title winning figures to be honest. I was expecting them to be trading odds on to win here with home advantage, but I was still a little surprised when I clicked into the market.
Inter Milan are trading 1.43 with Bologna 8.8 and the draw is 5.2 at the time of writing. I have to say I wasn’t expecting to see Inter trading that short. I know Bologna have struggled to get over the line in games this season; but they have been exceptionally strong at the back. They managed to get Champions League football and a Coppa Italia win in recent years by building their strength at the back. They have an average xG conceded of 1.11, which is the second best defensive figure this season. I know they are up against it here away to the best side in the league, but I do feel the 1.43 is very short. I feel Bologna will approach this game in a very cagey fashion – they will be happy with a draw – and I expect Inter to have to work very hard for the win. From a value point of view, I just expect a closer game than these odds suggest and I’m happy with a small Inter lay in what should be a close game. Bologna have got a result in the last three meetings between the sides, and in six of the last seven too.
The Ultra Says:
One point lay (liability) Inter Milan to beat Bologna at 1.43 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
