SUNDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews REAL MADRID v LAS PALMAS and INTER MILAN v EMPOLI both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
REAL MADRID V LAS PALMAS
3.15pm Football from Europe on Sunday comes from La Liga and Serie A on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! We have Real Madrid and Inter Milan in action, and I’m sure the home double will be a popular bet. We start the day in La Liga as Real Madrid host Las Palmas – it’s fair to say that most football will be expecting a comfortable home win here. Real Madrid are trading as short as 1.18 with Las Palmas 19.0 and the draw is 9.8 at the time of writing. Real Madrid had to deal with losing the Spanish Super Cup to Barcelona recently; they took an early lead but got hammered 5-2 in the end. That’s the second time already this season they have been hammered by Barcelona, but Barcelona have dropped so many points in La Liga, it’s Real Madrid that are in the better position. They are one point behind Atletico Madrid at the top of the table coming into this weekend, but they are five points ahead of Barcelona – they will be expecting to get past Atletico! With home advantage, we’re looking at how many goals can Real score rather than will they win.
Las Palmas came up from the Segunda after the 2022/23 season, they were close enough to the relegation battle last season and they have given themselves an excellent chance at staying up again in recent weeks. They’ve managed to pick up three wins from their last five games – for a limited side they’ve only lost three times in their last ten La Liga games which is a great stat too. That stat, along with the fact that they managed to hold Real Madrid to a 1-1 draw earlier in the season when they had home advantage, might make a few punters think twice before taking the 1.18. Las Palmas have only failed to score twice in their last ten games, and while I know they face a massive task here, Both Teams To Score looks a nice price at 2.05. Real Madrid have been quite sloppy at times this season – in fairness their dropped points have all been away from home apart from a 4-0 loss to Barcelona here. I’m going to keep stakes small, but I feel Las Palmas can score at some stage, and BTTS should be favourite in my opinion.

INTER MILAN V EMPOLI
7.45pm We move over to Serie A to finish Sunday, and we have another very short home favourite here as Inter Milan host Empoli. Inter Milan are trading 1.25 with Empoli 15.5 and the draw is 7.0 at the time of writing. This could be a massive weekend in the title race for Inter Milan – Atalanta and Napoli meet on Saturday night, and as I said in my preview of that game, Inter Milan fans will be hoping for a draw in that game! Coming into this weekend, Inter are three points behind Napoli but they have a game in hand after the time in Saudi Arabia for the Super Cup. They will be fully expected to win this game, as the market would suggest. Empoli are going to be involved in the relegation battle this season – there are a lot of sides involved in the relegation battle in Serie A, and Empoli come into this weekend two points away from the bottom three, but they do have plenty of sides between themselves and the relegation zone – there are five sides all within two points of the relegation zone.
Empoli are in trouble if you look at their under-lining numbers. Their average xG created is only 1.03, which is the worst attacking figure in Serie A this season. There are sides scoring less goals this season, but that’s largely because they haven’t been taking their chances. Empoli are genuinely struggling to create good quality chances. The reason why Empoli aren’t in the relegation zone at the moment is that sides haven’t been taking their chances against them; their average xG conceded is 1.42 but their actual goals conceded average is only 1.25. Their aim here could be to keep the game as tight as possible, and while there are plenty of options on Inter covering a handicap here, I’m happy to stay away from the number of goals Inter will score. I prefer the Both Teams Not To Score option at 1.69 which is effectively Inter to keep a clean sheet on the way to winning in my opinion. Empoli just haven’t been creating a lot, and with Inter so solid at the back – they the second best defensive figure in Serie A – they can keep a clean sheet here.
