SUNDAY LA LIGA: Our football tipster The Ultra previews Sunday’s games between OSASUNA v BARCELONA, REAL BETIS v REAL SOCIEDAD and REAL MADRID v ATLETICO MADRID all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
OSASUNA V BARCELONA
3.15pm What a Sunday we have in Europe! So many talking points to get through today, and it’s a massive day in La Liga on BETDAQ Betting Exchange with Barcelona, Real Sociedad, Real Madrid and Sevilla all in action. We start in the afternoon with Osasuna hosting Barcelona, and the pressure is definitely on Barcelona after they crashed out of the Champions League on Wednesday night. They were always going to be up against it away to Bayern Munich, but Bayern hammered them and they had nothing to play for. I think the way in which they lost will hurt the fans more than the actual loss – they were well off the pace and they just don’t look like a top side anymore. It’s actually hard to believe how quickly their level has dropped, and the board should be ashamed for the financial position they have put the club in. It probably also highlight how just much Messi carried the side over the last number of years. It’s all just a sad situation, because you wouldn’t say Messi looks fully happy at PSG either – he has looked like he’s been going through the motions every time I’ve watched him.
This is another tie that you look at and find it hard to have any sort of confidence in Barcelona getting the job done. They have been unlucky at times, but their away performances this season have been quite poor. If you look at the home and away La Liga table, Barcelona are in fourth at home, but they are in the bottom half of the table away from home – they have only collected six points from six games. Their performances haven’t been good too – they created an xG of 1.01 at Athletic Bilbao, 0.64 at Cadiz, 0.82 at Atletico Madrid and 0.97 at Celta Vigo. I know Osasuna come into the game on a run without a win but they have been playing some nice football overall this season. They have had a tough fixture list recently, having had to play Real Madrid, Sevilla, Real Sociedad and Atletico Madrid all in a row. This is a game for small stakes, but I’m happy to take on Barcelona again away from home.
The Ultra Says:
One point lay (liability) Barcelona to beat Osasuna at 2.0 with BETDAQ Exchange.

REAL BETIS V REAL SOCIEDAD
5.30pm It really is a massive day in La Liga, and next we have Real Betis hosting Real Sociedad. There’s no doubt that Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid will take all the headlines today and rightly so, but when you look at the table you can see just how important this game is for both sides. Real Sociedad started the season very strongly, but it appears they are doing what they did last season – slipping away from the top four with each passing week. With Barcelona off the pace this season and starting the weekend sitting in 7th, Real Sociedad must target Real Betis who started the weekend in third. This could be a massive day for Real Betis too, if Real Madrid beat Atletico Madrid later and Betis win here, they will have a four point cushion on Atletico and that’s not even mentioning the huge boost they will get from beating a rival in Real Sociedad. Real Betis aren’t a traditional top four side, but as we have seen all across Europe this season, the old guard is slipping away and there’s definitely opportunity there. The investment the Champions League could bring could transform the club too. What a big game we have to look forward to as a preview to Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid later!
Real Betis come into this fixture full of confidence after beating Barcelona 1-0 at Camp Nou last weekend. It was a very close game that could have gone either way, but Betsi grinded out a result. Perhaps that’s a reflection of the troubles of Barcelona this season, but it’s a massive boost for Betis. This fixture seems to fall at a good time for Betis – Sociedad have lost their last three and their form has been dipping for weeks now. It’s remarkable how similar this run is to the past, and their chances created has really done down too. Betis are clear favourites, but I still believe there is some value on offer at odds of 2.36. Sociedad have just been giving away too many chances really and not creating xG figures of over 2.0 – with home advantage, the chance is there for Betis to record a massive win and really become top four contenders. They might just fail to finish top four, but with a win here they are really in the mix.
The Ultra Says:
Three points win Real Betis to beat Real Sociedad at 2.36 with BETDAQ Exchange.

REAL MADRID V ATLETICO MADRID
8pm We have saved the best for last this weekend as we finish Sunday night with Real Madrid hosting Atletico Madrid. I spoke above about just how important Real Betis v Real Sociedad was to both sides, well this is just as important here. A loss would likely end Atletico Madrid title hopes, which are already hanging on by a thread. They start this game ten points behind Real Madrid who sit top of the table. They have a game in hand, but a loss here would basically be impossible to come back from. Even a win would still leave Atletico with work to do, and they don’t look like a title winning side this season. It’s unfortunate for them to be honest because with the dramatic drop off from Barcelona the opportunity was there for them to win back-to-back titles but they just haven’t been good enough. They have had a few unlucky results, but overall they just haven’t created enough and they have given away too many soft goals. They recorded a huge win midweek which kept them in the Champions League, and it will be interesting to see how they perform here.
Real Madrid come into the fixture on a long winning run now, and they recorded a nice 2-0 win midweek against Inter Milan to top their Champions League Group. They were also very impressive last weekend in a 2-0 win away to Real Sociedad and although they have been giving away a lot of chances – Real Madrid tend to always do that in fairness – they are getting results and seem unstoppable at the moment. They have built up a nice lead at the top of La Liga, and as I said above, a win here would go a long way to deciding the title. Real won’t be looking down the table afraid of Sevilla or Real Betis, and Barcelona aren’t even in the top six so this is the big game. I have to say I was surprised to see Real at odds against given the struggles of Atletico this season – the 2.16 seems massive given Atletico just haven’t been themselves this season and their level hasn’t been good enough. They were unlucky to lose away Mallorca last weekend, but overall they are just giving away too many chances. With home advantage and at nice odds, Real are a Max Bet for me at 2.16!
The Ultra Says:
Five points win Real Madrid to beat Atletico Madrid at 2.16 with BETDAQ Exchange.
