SUNDAY IN EUROPE: Our football tipster The Ultra previews Sunday’s La Liga and Series A matches between ATLETICO MADRID v REAL BETIS, GETAFE v ESPANYOL and ROMA v AC MILAN all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
ATLETICO MADRID V REAL BETIS
3.15pm We have another excellent Sunday ahead in Europe! We had plenty of big sides in action on Saturday with the Champions League on midweek, but we have three very interesting markets on BETDAQ Betting Exchange. We start the day in La Liga with Atletico Madrid hosting Real Betis. It was a massive disappointment that Atletico couldn’t beat Levante midweek for us – they just didn’t perform and actually created a lower xG than Levante who were in the bottom three. I felt we would see a decent Atletico performance but I suppose in hindsight it just highlights that Atletico haven’t been themselves this season. Their level has definitely dropped, which is a huge shame for Atletico fans because the title is there to be won this season with Barcelona in disarray and Real Madrid also underperforming.
It was just another missed opportunity from Atletico, and they really need to go on a winning run soon. The good news for them midweek was Real Madrid also dropped points. Atletico started the weekend five points behind Real Sociedad at the top of the table with a game in hand, and probably more importantly two points behind Real Madrid having played the same number of games. This will be a really tough fixture for Atletico and I was very surprised to see them so short at 1.63 when I clicked into the market. Real Betis started the season in great form, they started the weekend in the top four and they are scoring goals too! Looking at their xG figures it’s clear to see that they like playing an open game, however given Atletico have been struggling to create a lot of chances lately, this might actually work in their favour here. I feel the 1.63 is simply too short on Atletico, and it looks an excellent value lay in what should be a close game.
The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Atletico Madrid to beat Real Betis at 1.63 with BETDAQ Exchange.

GETAFE V ESPANYOL
5.30pm We stay in La Liga next as Getafe host Espanyol on Sunday afternoon. I might have been surprised when I clicked into the Atletico market, but not as surprised to see this market! Getafe sit nailed to the bottom of La Liga, but they are favourites for this game. I’m very surprised at the betting here, and I feel it’s all wrong. Espanyol are having a solid season, and they started the weekend just inside the top ten. Not only have they been playing some decent football, they’ve already had to play Atletico Madrid, Real Madrid and Sevilla. They actually managed to beat Real Madrid 2-1 in a very tight game and they played out two close games with Atletico and Sevilla too. They conceded a worrying xG to Athletic Bilbao midweek, but in general they have been creating some decent chances and playing solid football.
Espanyol are nothing more than your average mid-table La Liga side so let’s not get too carried away here, but Getafe are bang average and the odds look wrong here. Whatever about having an open market, but Getafe are clear favourites at 2.54 and Espanyol are 3.35. I would have the prices the other way around! Getafe were very lucky to draw 1-1 with Granada midweek who are also in the relegation battle, conceding an xG of 2.09. When you look down the Getafe xG figures you can see that they don’t create much, they often struggle to create an xG of over 1. From a betting point of view, the Getafe lay is obviously very tempting but you don’t get value like this often so I’m going to go for it with the Espanyol win. I wouldn’t put anyone off the Getafe lay and have the draw on your side too, but I’m happy to have a max bet on Espanyol at the odds.
The Ultra Says:
Five points win Espanyol to beat Getafe at 3.35 with BETDAQ Exchange.

ROMA V AC MILAN
7.45pm We move over to Serie A to finish an intriguing day as Roma host AC Milan. This is going to be a cracker, and it’s also a massive game for both sides. Fair to say it’s been a very interesting few weeks in Serie A. Juventus lost again midweek and now they are well off the pace in the top four race. It seems fair to suggest they will miss out on Champions League football for the first time in a long time and we will see a lot of changes during the summer. Losing the goals from Ronaldo was always going to have a massive negative impact. With Juventus struggling, that definitely has opened the door for Jose Mourinho’s Roma side to step into the Champions League spots. They started the weekend sitting in the top four, and a win here would be absolutely massive. They are a little off the pace as they are nine points behind Napoli at the top, but they are only two behind Inter Milan.
Just getting back into the Champions League would be a massive achievement for Roma, and for the time being at least, it seems Jose has them playing some great football and they have that team spirit that Jose brings in his opening season. We’ve all seen that spirit sour as the years go by, but there’s a lot less pressure with Roma in Serie A so Jose could be a big success here. With that being said, they look a little short here at 2.4 against a rock solid AC Milan side. Milan haven’t done anything flashy this season, but they are nine points ahead of Roma and they have been pretty good at the back this season. They haven’t given away many big xG figures lately, and I feel that they can get a result here. The 2.4 on Roma looks worth a lay.
The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Roma to beat AC Milan at 2.4 with BETDAQ Exchange.
