NATIONS LEAGUE: The Ultra previews Sunday’s Nations League games between NETHERLANDS v BELGIUM and WALES v POLAND both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

NETHERLANDS V BELGIUM

7.45pm The Nations League continues on Sunday on BETDAQ Betting Exchange as we decide Group A4! We have two fascinating games as Netherlands and Belgium battle it out for top spot, and Wales host Poland hoping to avoid relegation. Fair to say the pressure is on here! We start at the top of the Group as Netherlands host Belgium. Although on paper everything is to play for here, Belgium are in a very difficult position being three points behind the Netherlands and losing to them 4-1 when they had home advantage. That game is basically the exact difference here because Netherlands have a goal difference advantage of three over Belgium! Despite Belgium looking very unlikely to cause an upset and top the Group from this situation, we’re still going to have a wonderful game here between two top class sides. Both sides had to grind out wins earlier in the week with Belgium beating Wales 2-1 and Netherland winning 2-0 away to Poland. It’s not a surprise to see a reasonably open market here, and it’s hard not to see a ding-dong battle to be honest. Netherlands deserve to be favourites with home advantage, and the 2.4 looks to be the right price in my opinion.

Without much value on offer in the match odds market, I’m happy to look around the side markets for some value. We saw a very open game when the sides met in June, but then that fixture did come at the end of a long season for the top stars. Netherlands were hammering Belgium 4-0 and Belgium only managed a token consolation goal in injury time. Netherlands have really improved over the last few years after missing out on major tournaments – they have a very attacking and entertaining side now, although given the Group situation they won’t want to open this game up too much. From a Netherlands point of view, the more boring this game is the better! That being said; can they do that? They usually love to play an open game. Betting is all about the odds though, and the market is expecting goals with Over 2.5 goals trading odds on 1.8. I feel we’ll see a pretty cagey game from the Netherlands here and I’m happy to have a small bet on Under 2.5 goals. Belgium need a win of course so they will have to open the game up at some stage, but it’s not in their nature to attack in the big games from the start. Maybe we’ll see a very open second, but I wouldn’t be surprised if we got to the break at 0-0. Unders looks worth a small investment at the odds.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Under 2.5 goals at 2.2 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

WALES V POLAND

7.45pm We stay in Group A4 next as Wales host Poland. These two are going to battle it out to see who avoids getting relegated and it’s Wales who come into the game under immense pressure. They are sitting bottom of the Group with just one point from their five games – they are three points behind Poland but given they “only” lost 2-1 to Poland away from home and they have a better goal difference by three – they do have hope of staying up. To do that however they need to pull off a win here which is easier said than done. As I said in my preview of the Belgium v Wales game earlier in the week, it’s fair to say that Wales did have one eye on World Cup Qualification during this Nations League campaign. It was just the way things worked out with the fixtures – they had such a high and then it would have definitely been a come down to compete in this competition. Although the Nations League has done a lot of good for International football and giving these International breaks some meaning; sides aren’t going to overly panic like they would in World Cup or European qualifying. Wales will likely get relegated after this game, but as I said earlier in the week too they aren’t good enough for an A Group and they are probably too good for a B Group given how far ahead they were in that Group with Republic of Ireland last time. They might have a few years of bouncing up and down the leagues. Poland have definitely gone backwards recently though, and if Wales were playing better football I would suggest Poland are there for the taking.

We have an exceptionally open market, with both sides almost trading the same price. Indeed, we aren’t a million miles away from the magical 3.0 on all three outcomes here! It’s hard to see anything bar a very close game here, and there are plenty of reasons to take on either side. Wales will be delighted to have home advantage in such a big game, and the home crowd tends to carry them in these situations. They’ll have to grind out a win though because they haven’t been able to do anything flashy for a while now. They have mainly focused on being rock solid at the back, and that has definitely come at a cost going forward. I couldn’t put anyone off the draw at 3.25 but Under 2.5 goals stands out here at 1.7. Wales have had tight games at home – indeed Netherlands were leading 1-0 going into injury time where we saw a crazy finish for Over 2.5 goals to land, then we saw a 1-1 here against Belgium. I fully expect another tight game here, Poland don’t need to attack either given the Group situation and Under 2.5 goals looks the bet of the night.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Under 2.5 goals at 1.7 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
