LA LIGA SUNDAY: The Ultra previews REAL SOCIEDAD v BARCELONA with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
REAL SOCIEDAD V BARCELONA
8pm European action continues on Betdaq Betting Exchange with the focus on La Liga this Sunday! Real Sociedad host Barcelona in a game that most football fans will expect Barcelona to win – they can’t afford to slip up here with their main rivals Real Madrid seemingly imploding at the moment. Xabi Alonso didn’t survive the Spanish Super Cup loss against Barcelona in Saudi Arabia – we all saw the videos with Mbappe too. Then Real crashed out of the Copa del Rey midweek as well. Barcelona have a lovely four point cushion at the top of La Liga coming into this weekend – it seems there is a strong chance to increase that this month.
Real will be expected to win with home advantage against Levante on Saturday so the gap might be one point by the time Barcelona kick off here, but it’s no surprise that they come into the game as the odds on favourites. Barcelona are trading 1.6 with Real Sociedad 5.6 and the draw is 4.8 at the time of writing. Real Sociedad have been struggling this season as they sit down in mid-table – it wasn’t so long ago that they were a consistent European side but the wheels came off last season with a mid-table finish and while they have played much better football this season, they’ve really struggled to get over the line in games.
Sociedad have the joint-fourth best attacking figure in La Liga this season with a very respectable average xG created of 1.58. The problem is they just haven’t been taking those chances and they’ve really struggled in front of goal. They’ve conceded more than they’ve scored, and they have a mid-table average xG conceded. Obviously Barcelona have been exceptional this season – there’s no doubt that they are the best side in Spain this season. They have the best attacking figure and the best defensive figure – granted that there isn’t much between themselves and Real in attack.
I have to say I was expecting Barcelona to be closer to 1.5 here rather than 1.6, and it’s very hard to get away from Barcelona from a value point of view. However, Sociedad have always performed better in front of their own fans and they have been creating a decent level of chances this season – they just need to start converting them! I feel we’ll see an open game here, and Sociedad can get on the score sheet at some stage. I couldn’t put anyone off the Barcelona bet at 1.6, but I feel Both Teams To Score offers marginally more value at just five ticks lower in what should be an open and entertaining game.
The Ultra Says:
Two points win Both Teams To Score at 1.55 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE
