VERONA V NAPOLI

5.30pm We have a cracking Sunday from Europe on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! We have two away favourites from Serie A and La Liga in the shape of Napoli and Real Madrid. We kick off the action in Serie A as Verona host Napoli, and all eyes will be on Napoli here after last season! They come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.82 with Verona 5.1 and the draw is 3.85 at the time of writing. You could write a book about Napoli last season, and you probably still wouldn’t have time and space to explain their performance levels versus their finishing position! After reaching the pinnacle as Serie A Champions in 2022/23 and absolutely running away with the title by 16 points, they went down to tenth last season. No European football this season to enjoy, and they finished a whopping 41 points behind Champions Inter Milan. The table looks like they had a blowout season after winning the title after having to wait so long; it’s happened sides before after all, however the under-lining numbers are remarkable. Napoli finished the Serie A season with the best attacking xG figure in Serie A – they also had the joint-second best defensive xG figure. They had the overall best performance figure, and you could make the argue they “could have” won the league.

To have those stats and finish in tenth, 41 points behind the winners, was the most incredible situation in Europe last season! What went wrong then? They simply didn’t take their chances – they massively under-performed in front of goal and at the back, conceding more than they should. It’s a funny situation because despite a shocking season on paper, it’s not something you’d want to hit the panic button over. If they play to the same level this season they will challenge for the title. Last season betting on Napoli games was tricky – at what point do you just assume they won’t take their chances and lose faith? We start this season with the same question, but the 1.82 is almost too big to turn down against a Verona side who also really struggled to score goals last season finishing in mid-table. In fairness to Verona, they improved to move away from the relegation battle but they still played pretty average football. I’m going to keep stakes limited – it is the first game of the season after all – but the 1.82 on Napoli looks a cracking bet.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Napoli to beat Verona at 1.82 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

MALLORCA V REAL MADRID

8.30pm Next we move over to La Liga to finish Sunday as Mallorca host Champions Real Madrid. It’s only been a few days, but Real Madrid are already having an excellent season – they landed the UEFA Super Cup on Wednesday night for a record-breaking sixth time, and their new star signing Mbappe scored on his debut too. It couldn’t have gone any better. Real Madrid will be fully expected to win La Liga again this season – obviously Barcelona are their only real danger with Atletico Madrid a little off the pace these days. Barcelona are still having issues off the pitch, and the Real Madrid performance level was better than Barcelona last season anyway. They were always going to sign Mbappe, but it will be interesting to see how he fits into the system given it worked so well last season. They come into this game as the odds on favourites at 1.49 with Mallorca 8.2 and the draw is 4.6 at the time of writing. At this stage we know what we’re going to get from Real Madrid; they finished last season with the best attacking figure and the second best defensive figure by 0.01. When you put them together they were clear on over all figures.

They open their season against a Mallorca side who weren’t far away from the relegation battle last season down in 15th. They were in the bottom five on attacking figures, and they really struggled to score goals. They finished the season with less than one goal per game. It’s hard to see past the 1.49 on Real Madrid here – they are definitely a nice option for any weekend Acca too! I know Real Madrid are all about their attacking stars, but their defensive work has been superb under Carlo Ancelotti. Their average xG conceded last season was only 1.15, and with Mallorca struggling last season I feel Real Madrid can keep a clean sheet on the way to winning here. I couldn’t put anyone off the Real Madrid win at 1.49, but I do feel Both Teams Not To Score at 1.81 offers nice value. Again, as its opening weekend we’re not going crazy with stakes.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Both Teams Not To Score at 1.81 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
