FERENCVAROS V TOTTENHAM

5.45pm We’re back to Thursday night Europa League action after the opening week, and we have a cracking Thursday night on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE. Spurs and Manchester United took all the headlines from the Premier League at the weekend, and we have both sides in action here. We kick off the evening with Ferencvaros hosting Spurs, and this is a game that Spurs will be expected to win given the gulf in class between the sides. Spurs are trading 1.4 with Ferencvaros 8.4 and the draw is 5.6 at the time of writing. Spurs were brilliant at the weekend when beating United 3-0 at Old Trafford; however much of the headlines focused on how bad the United players attitude was. That was true, but Spurs were superb in the first half. Spurs have only managed ten points from their six Premier League games this season which leaves them sitting down in eighth, however when you look under the hood things have been much more impressive for Ange Postecoglou. Their average xG created is 1.94 which is the second best attacking figure in the Premier League; just 0.02 behind Manchester City and 0.20 ahead of Liverpool. They have been impressive at the back too; their average xG conceded is only 0.93.

That defensive figure is currently the best figure in the Premier League, which isn’t usually the case for Spurs! A mistake is never far away at the back, but so far they have been pretty solid at the back. A quick look at the table would make you think Spurs haven’t changed, their under-lining figures say they have definitely improved this season. They got off to a good start beating Qarabag 3-0, and you wouldn’t be surprised to see a similar result in my opinion. Ferencvaros have been through a lot this season – they were in Champions League qualifying as early as July, then a Europa League qualifier before the tournament. They opened with a loss against Anderlecht, and although they top the table in Hungary I don’t see any issues for Spurs here. The 1.4 is a tempting bet, but I’m going to go for something a little bigger on the handicap given the amount of chances they have been creating in the Premier League. They are trading 1.95 -1.5 goals and that looks a nice position to start the evening.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Tottenham -1.5 goals to beat Ferencvaros at 1.95 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

PORTO V MANCHESTER UNITED

8pm We finish Thursday night with Porto hosting Manchester United, and although we have some intriguing fixtures on Thursday there’s no doubt that all eyes will be on Manchester United. They suffered yet another embarrassing defeat at Old Trafford when losing 3-0 to Spurs at the weekend. Obviously the red card was a factor, but they were all over the place in the first half before Bruno Fernandes was sent off. Once again, all the questions about Erik ten Hag and what system he wants to play – the reality is it’s hard to see what he wants to do and that obviously brings a lot of criticism. I know we’ve covered a lot of this before, but once again I feel all the issues with Manchester United come from the squad – their effort in the first half at the weekend was shocking. They’ve downed tools plenty of times before under multiple managers too; as Roy Keane once said it “they’ve thrown managers under the bus before, and they will do it again.” We have a very open betting heat, with United coming into the game as favourites. Porto are trading 3.0 with Manchester United 2.58 and the draw is 3.5 at the time of writing.

The tricky thing from a betting point of view with United at the moment (actually nearly since Sir Alex Ferguson left!) is that you never know what type of performance you’re going to get. If the players react to the weekend, they could easily put in a world class performance and blow Porto away. They could also just as easily down tools like they did in the first half at the weekend too! It was interesting to see Erik ten Hag question the players attitudes the game before the Spurs fixture; then he got that performance – that to me suggests the squad is quite toxic. I’m happy to keep stakes low on United games for the time being, and I’m very interesting to see what type of performance we get here from the players. From a betting point of view, although the United lay is a tempting bet, I do like a small position on the draw here at 3.5. You just know United will give Porto chances, and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a 2-2 draw here or something with a very entertaining score line.

The Ultra Says:
One point win Draw at 3.5 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
