THURSDAY EUROPA LEAGUE: The Ultra previews HOFFENHEIM v TOTTENHAM and MANCHESTER UNITED v RANGERS both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
HOFFENHEIM V TOTTENHAM
5.45pm A fascinating Thursday night from the Europa League awaits on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! Spurs and Manchester United are back in action having both lost at the weekend – unfortunately for both clubs, that’s been a very familiar tale this season. They are closer to a relegation battle in the Premier League than challenging for the European spots – we won’t be seeing either club next season unless they can win this tournament! We kick off the evening with Hoffenheim hosting Spurs, and on paper this is a game that Spurs should win. Hoffenheim have been hanging around the relegation battle in the Bundesliga – they recorded a huge win at the weekend over Holstein who are in the relegation zone, and that has given Hoffenheim a three point cushion on the bottom three. However, their place in the table doesn’t tell the full story – they have been playing much better than their place suggests. They have the sixth best attacking figure in the Bundesliga, but they’ve been exceptionally sloppy at the back conceding close to two goals per game on average. Their average xG conceded is in the bottom five too.
Spurs come into the game as the favourites at 2.3 with Hoffenheim 3.1 and the draw is 3.95 at the time of writing. It would take a brave punter to back Spurs at the moment, and the 2.3 doesn’t jump off the page as great value here. I know Hoffenheim have been sloppy at the back in the Bundesliga, Spurs have been all over the place at the back at times in the Premier League. Spurs games have been very entertaining though – there’s never a dull moment when something ‘Spursy’ is around the corner! Over 2.5 goals has landed in seven of Spurs last eight Premier League games, and it’s collected in four of their six Europa League games. This is a big game for Spurs as they sit just outside the top eight at the moment, which is a massive advantage in the new format. I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market here; Over 2.5 goals is trading 1.53 with Both Teams To Score a couple of ticks shorter. We have two very poor sides at the back here who make a lot of mistakes, and I’m happy to be on goals at the odds.
The Ultra Says:
Two points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.53 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

MANCHESTER UNITED V RANGERS
8pm The Manchester United soap-opera continues next as Manchester United host Rangers. United lost again at the weekend here against Brighton, and that followed on from a woeful performance here against Southampton – they managed to win in the end but they really haven’t played well here since Ruben Amorim took over. Rangers must be looking at this game as an excellent chance to cause an upset. Manchester United come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.47 with Rangers 7.8 and the draw is 5.0 at the time of writing. Obviously the gulf in class between the Premier League and the Scottish Premiership is massive, and Rangers have been well off the pace against Celtic this season too. With that being said, the 1.47 on United makes no appeal here given their current run. They just haven’t been playing well enough, and they made such hard work of beating Southampton recently too that you feel it’s going to be a nervous 90 minutes for United fans. It was fascinating to see how Ruben Amorim was speaking to the UK media after the loss against Brighton; he was starting to speak like Ralf Rangnick.
We all know what this United squad did to Ralf Rangnick too; they pretty much downed tools for the second half of the season. United clearly have a lot of problems, and it is interesting to see how the fans react going through things – they’ve basically repeated the same cycle every time since Sir Alex Ferguson left. We now have someone trying to create change for the better, but as they say – the truth hurts. Amorim is quite possibly being too honest with the media. It’s clear to see that Rangers haven’t been at their best this season, and from that point of view the best option seems to be to stay out of the match odds market – but I still wouldn’t put anyone off a small United lay. The bet I like is Both Teams To Score at 1.81 – United have been very easy to score against recently and we should have an open game here. This is definitely a game for small stakes in my opinion.
The Ultra Says:
One point win Both Teams To Score at 1.81 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
