GETAFE V REAL MADRID

8pm The midweek La Liga action continues on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE with Getafe hosting Real Madrid on Thursday night! Real Madrid games have been very dramatic recently, so hopefully we see more drama here! They found themselves 2-0 down against Almeria who sit nailed to the bottom of the table only to storm back and win 3-2 in injury time. Then they were 1-0 down to Las Palmas and scored in the 84th minute to get the win there. Those two games followed on from losing 4-2 to Atletico Madrid in the Copa del Rey. It’s been very entertaining to watch Real lately!

On paper, this is another game they should win against the mid-table Getafe. You would have said the games against Almeria and Las Palmas would have been routine wins too though! Getafe started this week just inside the top half of the table with a 2-0 win over Granada. They will be absolutely delighted with their position this season considering that they’ve been in the relegation battle for the last three seasons. They have finished close to the bottom three points wise, but there’s always been a lot of teams involved – they have experience of fighting to stay up now anyway even if they don’t need it this season.

As you would expect, Real Madrid come into the game as the odds on favourites. They are trading 1.57 at the time of writing with Getafe 7.0 and the draw is 4.2. The 1.57 on Real is an appealing bet, but you might get bigger on them in-running considering the roller-coaster they have been on lately. I suppose they have just been a little sloppy at the back at times and that’s got them into trouble. They obviously have all the talent to get themselves out of trouble though, led by the incredible Jude Bellingham!

Despite all the recent goals conceded, Real actually have the best defensive xG figure in La Liga. You don’t need me to tell you that they have been superb going forward either. Getafe have a mid-table average xG figure at 1.33 and they are marginally conceding more chances at 1.35. They have performed exactly in line with their xG figures, hence why they sit in mid-table! At home however, they have been a lot more solid at the back compared to away from home. Their average xG conceded at home drops to 1.13. It will be interesting to see how they cope with the best side in La Liga here!

Obviously the 1.57 is a tempting bet, but given the way Real have played recently other bets to consider are Over 2.5 goals at 1.94 and Both Teams To Score at 2.02. Getafe have created enough to suggest that they can score at some stage, especially with Real playing such an open game lately. I think they feel that they can beat anyone if they just attack – pretty much as Manchester City do in the Premier League. However, usually we do get a tight game between these two. Over 2.5 goals has only landed once in the last eight meetings which is a remarkable stat really. Real have won six of those meetings, so I’m happy with the 1.57 rather than the goal bet options given the history between the sides.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Real Madrid to beat Getafe at 1.57 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
