INTER MILAN V ATALANTA

7pm The Italian Super Cup is the focus on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE for football on Thursday! We have two cracking games coming up this week; Inter Milan clash with Atalanta on Thursday while Juventus and AC Milan meet on Friday, with the Final then taking place on Monday. The Italian Super Cup has been around this 1988, but it changed to a four team format last season. It doesn’t take a rocket scientist to work out that was for monetary reasons and the hosting taking place in Saudi Arabia will be something football fans will point to when saying “the game is gone” etc!

While we’ve had a lot of sport move to Saudi Arabia over the last few years, moving the Italian Super Cup isn’t something new. They have basically moved this around a lot over the years – even as far as back as 1993 they had in America, then again in 2003 and it’s been hosted in the likes of China, Libya, Qatar and Saudi Arabia before. There has been a lot of criticism over the years because of money as regards to where this has been hosted. It’s always interesting to see how the players and teams react – we had the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia for a few years now and it was packed with goals last season. They actually host it again next week.

Inter Milan and Atalanta have been the best two sides in Serie A this season, so this should be a good game. It will be interesting to see do we get a more open game than usual! Inter Milan come into the game as the favourites at 2.36 with Atalanta 3.45 and the draw is 3.5 at the time of writing. Atalanta finally dropped points at the weekend in a 1-1 draw away to Lazio – that ended an eleven game winning streak in Serie A which put them top of the table. They still sit top, but after a win for Inter Milan over Cagliari at the weekend too, Inter are only one point behind with a game in hand.

As I said above, both sides have been playing some excellent football this season. Atalanta have the best attacking figure in Serie A with Inter Milan in second. Inter Milan are also second on defensive figures, and while Atalanta are sixth best, their average xG conceded of 1.13 is still a very good figure. I feel we’re going to have a closer game than the odds suggest here, and the 2.36 on Inter feels a little short. Atalanta have been excellent this season, and from a value point of view I’m happy with a small Inter lay. I’m keen to keep stakes small here given the travel for the teams and everything around the tournament, but the Inter lay looks a nice position in my opinion.

The Ultra Says:
One point lay (liability) Inter Milan to beat Atalanta at 2.36 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
