LA LIGA THURSDAY: Our new European football tipster The Ultra is in terrific form and now previews Thursday’s La Liga matches between BARCELONA v OSASUNA, GETAFE v ATLETICO MADRID and REAL MADRID v VILLARREAL all with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

BARCELONA V OSASUNA
8pm We have a full fixture list in La Liga on Thursday night to enjoy! We start with Barcelona hosting Osasuna as they aim to win and just hope Real Madrid slip up somewhere. Real have been impressive lately but Barcelona haven’t given up and while they haven’t been at their best this season, they have been grinding out wins. Obviously it’s hard to judge how these mid-table sides do when they come to Barcelona – usually they just get run over – but there’s reason to think Osasuna can score here.
Osasuna have nothing to lose here and they arrive in pretty good form. They’ve only lost once in their last six and although they are not creating numbers that jump off the page, they have been playing solid football. I think Osasuna can score here and Both Teams To Score looks a value play at 2.24. Barcelona have been consistently giving up chances this season – the main reason why they’re not leading La Liga – and Osasuna will get chances here. In Barcelona’s last five, they have given up xG’s of 1.43, 0.85, 0.87, 1.96 and 1.92. BTTS should be shorter for me and it’s worth backing.

GETAFE V ATLETICO MADRID
8pm Getafe let us down with our bet on Monday night; however it was only small stakes and while the bet wasn’t unlucky, if there was going to be a winner it was going to be them. They should have beaten Alaves, but Atletico should beat them here. They look massive at 2.4. Getafe have been putting in good xG numbers, hence the price on offer for Atletico tonight, but Atletico are unbeaten in their last 14 and have been excellent since returning from lockdown.
They were lucky to beat Real Betis last time out, but they still created enough to win the game and their recent xG numbers have been impressive. Remarkably, xG actually puts Atletico in first position in La Liga. That just highlights how well they have been playing and at 2.4 they look like the best bet on the evening. The only reason for not making it a max bet is there is little to play for here, and perhaps that can create an open (or dull) game – but I’m all over this Atletico price.

REAL MADRID V VILLARREAL
8pm Real Madrid grinded out another win on Monday night to restore their four point lead at the top of La Liga and they just keep winning. Their performance wasn’t the best on Monday and dropped a little from their previous game – perhaps a sign of title nerves – but Villarreal lost to Real Sociedad who haven’t been in good form and we should see another Real win here. They have been excellent on the run in with nine straight wins, and their numbers since returning from lockdown have been very impressive.
The Real results on paper look like they have been grinding out wins, but apart from their most recent fixture against Granada away from home they have been blowing away teams. Their last three xG’s at home have been 2.35, 1.96 and 1.29 – they have recorded higher xG’s away from home and I think there’s a bit of value in under 2.5 goals here at 2.6. The Real win is very tempting at 1.45, but I can see a cagey home win here and under 2.5 goals is worth a small investment.
