SCOTLAND V GREECE

7.45pm The World Cup Qualifiers are back on Betdaq Betting Exchange in the latest International Break! Once again, we have the debate that there are too many International Breaks so early into the season – one in September, one in October and one in November is far too much. FIFA has agreed, and from 2026 they have merged the September and October International break into one, which will take place in September. That effectively means this will be the last October International Break!

We kick off the action on Thursday with a massive game from Group C as Scotland host Greece. This is a Group that started late so everyone has only played twice – compared that to Group G for example where we’ve had five matchdays. Denmark were involved in the Nations League playoffs, and then of course there’s only four Nations. The general thought was Denmark would top this Group and Scotland and Greece would battle it out for second. So far, it’s quite open.

Denmark and Scotland have four points with Greece just behind them on three. Belarus will be the whipping boys of this Group – yet to win a point. Scotland are already in a strong position having drawn 0-0 away to Denmark; while Denmark hammered Greece 3-0 in September away from home. It’s fair to say that the clashes between Scotland and Greece will decide second, but anything picked up against Denmark will obviously be massive.

These two sides have made a lot of progress in recent years. It’s not a surprise that we have a very open betting heat too; it’s actually the most open betting heat of the day! Greece are marginal favourites at 2.84 with Scotland 2.94 and the draw is 3.15 at the time of writing. I have to say, I was a little surprised to see Greece trading as the favourites here when I clicked into the market; I know there’s very little in it but I would actually have Scotland as the favourites here.

They have been very strong at home in recent times, but in fairness the sides did meet here as recently as March in the Nations League Playoffs and Greece won 3-0. That was after Scotland had grinded out a 1-0 win away from home too. That score flattered Greece a lot though in my opinion; Scotland had more possession and the xG was very similar for both sides. There really isn’t much between the sides so it’s easy to see why we have such an open market, but as I said I’d have the odds the other way around between Scotland and Greece, and I’m happy to lay Greece from a value point of view.

The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Greece to beat Scotland at 2.84 BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
