THURSDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews Thursday’s matches between HELLAS VERONA v JUVENTUS and REAL MADRID v CADIZ both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
HELLAS VERONA V JUVENTUS
5.30pm The fixtures from around Europe just keep coming this week on BETDAQ Betting Exchange, and we wrap up the midweek fixture list on Thursday with action from Serie A and La Liga. We have a fascinating market in Serie A to start the evening as Hellas Verona host Juventus. We landed a nice Max Bet on Roma to win here in Hellas Verona’s last game, and we can do the same here with Juventus. Obviously Juventus haven’t been playing as well as Roma this season, but I was very surprised to see Juventus trading as big as 1.72 when I clicked into the market. Hellas Verona currently sit bottom of the table with only five points from their 13 games and they just don’t look up to Serie A standard. They have a very slim chance of staying up this season, even with Sampdoria and Cremonese quite close to them there is a gap forming each week. Verona have put together eight losses in a row now – there only win of the season came at the start of September before that run, and even then that win came against Sampdoria who have also been very poor this season. The under-lining numbers for Verona aren’t woefully bad, but they have just been consistently poor. They aren’t creating chances and while they are only conceding an average xG of 1.5 this season, that’s been enough to see them bottom of the table.
Juventus have their own issues of course, but they should get the job done. It would have been a huge confidence boost for them at the weekend to beat Inter Milan 2-0, and although the game was pretty even if you look at the xG figures it is a sign that Juventus have been improving of late. They have had a tough time in the Champions League and only managed three points from their six games but took a spot in the Europa League which they must have a decent chance of winning now if they take it seriously. However, in Serie A they have put together four wins since losing to AC Milan. At the start of the season their away performances were average, but they created an xG of 2.14 when beating Torino and then grinded out a 1-0 win in a close game against Lecce which was a good sign. It’s clear that they aren’t at their best, but given they are trading as big as 1.72 to beat a very average side like Verona I still feel they offer enough value to be a Max Bet. They have kept things very tight at the back for a large back of the season, so they can grind out a 1-0 win, but I wouldn’t be surprised to see something like a 3-0 win given the gulf in class.
The Ultra Says:
Five points win Juventus to beat Hellas Verona at 1.72 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

REAL MADRID V CADIZ
8.30pm We move to La Liga to finish the evening as the Champions Real Madrid host Cadiz. It hasn’t been a good few weeks for Real Madrid as they suffered another huge setback in the title race on Monday night with a 3-2 loss away to Rayo Vallecano. They finished the game with an xG of 2.44 and didn’t play badly, but that left them two points behind Barcelona instead of one ahead. After doing all the hard work winning El Clasico, they are now on the backfoot in the title race. It’s early days of course and who knows what will happen when we get back from the winter World Cup, but it looks like we’ll have a very exciting title race between the top two in Spain this season. It took Real Madrid so long to actually lose a game, and then two come quickly! The draw at home to Girona would have hurt too, they were heavy odds on favourites to win that game. They now face a Cadiz side sitting in the bottom three fighting for their lives, but the recent Real setbacks will give them hope here. In fairness to Cadiz they have been grinding out results and they have been hard to beat lately. They have collected points in five of their last six games, and even beat Atletico Madrid in that run too. That win came at home, and worryingly they haven’t been great away from home lately.
The market is fully expecting an easy home win here with Real trading as short as 1.18 at the time of writing. Despite the recent setbacks and Cadiz getting results in five of their last six games, it is hard to see anything bar a Real win here. That being said, I wouldn’t be running to back them at 1.18 – they have been conceding sloppy goals lately. Perhaps they will get away with that here because Cadiz aren’t great going forward, but I’m happy to stay out of the match odds market anyway. Cadiz were solid away to Getafe at the weekend, but they have been conceding a huge amount of chances away from home lately – Rayo Vallecano beat them 5-1 and finished with an xG of 4.06. They conceded an xG of 3.02 in a 1-1 draw against Girona, and then conceded an xG of 2.43 in a 1-0 win against Real Valladolid. To get two lucky results like that back-to-back is very rare given the chances they are conceding, and this might be when their luck runs out. Given the chances Cadiz have been conceding, I feel Real can score plenty here. Any Other Home Win (Real to score four or more and win) is trading 3.1 in the Correct Score market and that looks a value play.
The Ultra Says:
Two points win Any Other Home Win Correct Score at 3.1 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
