VALENCIA V BARCELONA

8.30pm The midweek Cup action continues on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE, and we focus on the Copa del Rey on Thursday night as Valencia host Barcelona. It was a good weekend in La Liga for both of these clubs – Valencia recorded a much needed win as they sit in the relegation zone, and Barcelona won to close to gap on Real Madrid after they lost to Espanyol in the shock of the week. What was good for Barcelona was bad for Valencia though given Espanyol are in the relegation battle with Valencia!

Most football fans will be expecting a comfortable win for Barcelona here, they recently hammered Valencia 7-1 when they had home advantage in La Liga at the end of January. Barcelona come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.45 with Valencia 7.8 and the draw is 5.4 at the time of writing. The sides met here on the opening weekend of the La Liga season back in August, with Barcelona running out 2-1 winners. It’s hard to see how Valencia can turn things around so quickly after a 7-1 hammering though; even with the change in venue.

The positive for Valencia is they have been able to win two of their last three games; they’ve really needed those points in the battle to stay up. It’s hard to say that their confidence is up, given the game in between those victories was the 7-1 loss to Barcelona. Their average xG created is only 1.11 this season, which is the fourth worst attacking figure in La Liga – miles behind Barcelona at 1.85 too – that figure is actually the best in the league at the moment. Valencia have been very sloppy at the back too, they are conceding a lot more goals than they should be – their average xG conceded is actually respectable at 1.23.

You could pick one or two positives for Valencia here, but it’s really hard to get away from Barcelona at 1.45. I’d have them trading sub 1.4, and I couldn’t put anyone off backing them in the match odds market. I feel they will win comfortably again here, and I’m going to go for something a little bigger in price than 1.45. Barcelona are trading odds against to cover the 1.5 goal handicap, and that looks cracking value in my opinion.

The Ultra Says:
Three points win Barcelona -1.5 goals to beat Valencia at 2.12 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
