TUESDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews ATALANTA v BOLOGNA with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
ATALANTA V BOLOGNA
8pm It’s a big week of Cup action on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE this week! We have domestic Cup fixtures all over Europe. We start the midweek action on Tuesday night, and in my opinion the pick of the action is Atalanta hosting Bologna in the Coppa Italia Quarter-Final. Atalanta come into the game as the odds on favourites, but they have been dropping a lot of points in Serie A recently. Only one win from their last six games as seen them drop out of the title race with Napoli and Inter Milan creating a little gap.
Atalanta also suffered a massive blow in the Champions League last week when they dropped out of the top eight on the final matchday. Obviously they were always up against it away to Barcelona in their final fixture – they actually did well to get a draw – but dropping out of that top eight and having to go through the playoffs is a setback. They got a good draw against Club Brugge; they should come through that but it just adds to the fixture list doesn’t it. Despite a hectic fixture list ahead, I don’t see them opting to rest players here – although it might be worth paying close attention to the teams news for any market moves.
Atalanta are trading 1.82 with Bologna 4.9 and the draw is 3.9 at the time of writing. Atalanta currently have the best attacking figure in Serie A this season, but as I highlighted above that hasn’t been translating into results recently. Bologna have been tough to beat this season too; they’ve had plenty of draws but they’ve only been beaten three times in Serie A. They picked up a 1-1 draw against Atalanta earlier in the season too; although they had home advantage that time. They are currently on a run of five games unbeaten in Serie A, and they have bumped into Roma and Inter Milan on that run too.
There’s no getting away from the fact that Atalanta have more quality in their side here, but Bologna have been rock solid at the back this season. They have an average xG conceded of 1.02 this season – only 0.01 behind Inter Milan and Juventus. Atalanta aren’t far off them to be fair, so Under 2.5 goals is definitely an option here in what should be a tight game. That’s trading odds against, I would be happy to back that but sometimes Cup games can get quite open towards the end. I actually wouldn’t put anyone off Unders, but from a value point of view I marginally prefer the Atalanta lay at 1.82. I expect a closer game than the odds suggest here with Bologna so solid at the back and Atalanta struggling to win games.
The Ultra Says:
One point lay (liability) Atalanta to beat Bologna at 1.82 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
