CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PREVIEW: Our European football tipster The Ultra previews Tuesday’s Champions League games between MANCHESTER CITY v GLADBACH and REAL MADRID v ATALANTA both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.

MANCHESTER CITY V GLADBACH

8pm We have a fantastic week of sport this week! As well as the Cheltenham Festival we have the Champions League too with all bets 0% Commission on BETDAQ Betting Exchange from Tuesday to Saturday. We start the action with Manchester City taking on Gladbach at the Puskas Arena. City might have lost their long winning run after losing 2-0 to Manchester United, but they have bounced back with eight goals in two games. Those games might have only been against Southampton and Fulham, but they meet Gladbach at an excellent time. Gladbach are on a losing run domestically and they have been very out of form. Although they were very unlucky to lose 3-1 on Friday night; that’s just the type of run they are on at the moment.

Of course, neither side have home advantage with this tie. But City deserved to win the first leg and Gladbach haven’t changed much since. I can only see one way traffic here, and the market agrees with City trading 1.28. Gladbach are without a win in seven games in the Bundesliga, and they have lost their last six in all competitions. I can see City doing a number on them here and although some handicap prices are tempting – I’m going to take a chance and go with Any Other Home Win at 4.0 in the Correct Score market. City are scoring goals for fun at the moment, and Gladbach have to chase the game so City should have plenty of space to create chances.

REAL MADRID v ATALANTA

8pm What a fixture – this is the highlight of the night for me. A lot of football punters expect Atalanta to win the first leg, but Real came out on top 1-0 and they should have scored more too. They dominated the game and were full value for the win. I know they have been off the pace in La Liga this season and they have thrown in some woeful performances at times, but they were perfect against Atalanta and I wouldn’t be surprised to see a different level from Real in this competition given their history. As I noted before the first leg, Atalanta aren’t having a fantastic season in Serie A and they were there for the taking.

The start of this game will be fascinating – at what point do Atalanta pull the trigger and attack? Real aren’t going to sit on their lead, but they won’t want the game to get too open either. They will be hoping for more of the same from the first leg when Atalanta could only create an xG of 0.15. That shows just how much Real were on top in that game. I wouldn’t put anyone off the 2.16 on Real, however while that is a tempting bet I prefer under 2.5 which is trading 2.22. Atalanta barely created anything in the first leg and Real won’t want an open game here – I know I’m taking a risk because an early goal could see a very open game but I think we’ll have a very tight and cagey affair with the stakes so high. I think Real can control the game again and stop Atalanta from scoring.
