ARSENAL V PSG

8pm The Champions League is back on Tuesday night, and we have some cracking fixtures on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! It’s a fascinating night ahead – it’s certainly headlined by Arsenal hosting PSG and that’s where we start. It was a good weekend for Arsenal in the Premier League as they scored late to beat Leicester after Manchester City dropped points earlier against Newcastle. That put Arsenal level on points with Manchester City, just one behind Liverpool at the moment. It’s been business as usual for PSG in Ligue 1 as you would expect, probably the surprising thing is they haven’t won all six of their games – they had to settle for a draw against Reims in mid-September. Obviously it’s almost a given that PSG are successful in France these days, and the acid test is always the Champions League. It has been an interest period for PSG recently; they have got rid of their major stars and it seems they might head in a different direction. In fairness, the stars always seemingly caused problems in the dressing room so they might as well try something different. It will be fascinating to see how they get on here; I think it’s fair to say Arsenal haven’t been firing yet this season looking at their under-lining numbers.

Arsenal fans will say that they are getting the job done, that is true, and it’s a sign of a good team that they can get so many wins under their belt not at their best. Their average xG created was only 1.26 which is very low, but they absolutely battered Leicester at the weekend to bring that up. I would be a little bit more worried about their chances conceded; their average xG conceded puts them in the bottom five defensive figures in the Premier League this season. Arsenal come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.82 with PSG 5.0 and the draw is 3.95 at the time of writing. As you would expect, the PSG figures from Ligue 1 are very impressive, but clearly there’s a major gulf in class there. I was surprised to see Over 2.5 goals trading as high as 1.83 when I clicked into the market because you’d have to expect a pretty open game here. I have to say I like two bets here – I like the Arsenal lay because I feel the game will be closer than the odds suggest, and I like the Overs option in what I expect to be an open game. Given the amount of chances Arsenal have conceded this season, I’m going to opt with the Overs option at a nice price of 1.83.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Over 2.5 goals at 1.83 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

DORTMUND V CELTIC

8pm Next we have Dortmund hosting Celtic, and this should be a cracker. Celtic kicked off their Champions League campaign with a win over Slovan with home advantage – this is obviously a totally different test now. Celtic have always tended to be strong at home – their atmosphere is incredible but historically they have struggled away from home. Celtic have won their six games in Scotland but that’s nothing unexpected; they haven’t even conceded a goal yet! Dortmund are three points behind Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga, but that does put them in fifth given it’s so early in the season. They have improved at the back this season – they currently have the second best defensive figure in the Bundesliga. They opened their Champions League campaign with a win too against Club Brugge – nothing unexpected there given the gulf in class between the sides, and this will be a step up for both sides, although a much higher jump for Celtic! Dortmund come into the game as the odds on favourites at 1.52 with Celtic 6.6 and the draw is 5.0 at the time of writing. They is a massive game for both sides looking at the fixture list.

Dortmund still have to play Real Madrid and Barcelona, and although they have two other easy fixtures on paper, this is a game where they can’t afford to drop points. From a Celtic point of view, they must be full of confidence given the run they are on and I have to say their Champions League fixtures could be a lot tougher. They face clubs like Atalanta and RB Leipzig along with Dortmund – very good clubs and no doubt they’ll be odds on to beat Celtic, but they avoided the top tiers like Bayern Munich and Real Madrid etc! It will be interesting to see how this one plays out; Celtic will no doubt be delighted with a draw but I don’t think their defensive record in Scotland matters given the level. Dortmund have been rock solid at the back this season, and with Celtic expected to sit back here we could easily see a cagey game – at least to begin with. The market is expecting goals however, and I’m not sure I agree with that. Under 3.5 goals looks a nice position at 1.67.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Under 3.5 goals at 1.67 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

SLOVAN V MANCHESTER CITY

8pm We finish Tuesday night with Slovan hosting Manchester City, and we have one of shortest prices of the week here. I was going to say the shortest price of the week in the Champions League, but we’re pretty close to having the shortest price in the whole of football this week! We have a market here like we would have for an International game given the massive gulf in class. It’s real David v Goliath stuff – Manchester City come into the game trading as short as 1.06 with Slovan 56.0 and the draw is 20.0 at the time of writing. Anything bar a comfortable win for City would be one of the biggest shocks in Champions League history – Slovan were put to the sword by Celtic in their opening Champions League game, and if they conceded five goals against Celtic you’d have to wonder how many goals are they going to concede against Pep Guardiola’s side! Given the incredibly short odds on City in the match odds market, it goes without saying that we’ll have to look around the side markets for some value here.

The market is expecting goals, and it’s expecting most of the goals to come from City too. Over 2.5 goals is trading as short as 1.25, with Both Teams Not To Score at 1.55. Slovan did manage to score against Celtic, but it’s hard to see them seeing much of the ball here. City have been conceding goals in the Premier League this season though. They dropped points again at the weekend away to Newcastle, and they actually haven’t managed to keep a Premier League clean sheet since the opening weekend of the season. It’s hard to have any confidence in Slovan here, but I’m sure they might be a popular bet to score at some stage – you can see City getting lacklustre at the back too if they are 4-0 or 5-0 up. City to score four or more goals and win is trading 1.96 in the Correct Score market which is an appealing bet in my opinion. Another option is City -2.5 goals at 1.6, but I prefer the Any Other Away Win bet in the Correct Score market.

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Any Other Away Win Correct Score at 1.96 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
