ARSENAL V REAL MADRID

8pm The Champions League Quarter-Finals kick off on Tuesday night, and we have a blockbuster week ahead on BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE! We have four top quality Quarter-Finals to enjoy; it’s just a shame that we don’t have them kicking off at 5.45pm and 8pm each night. We start the week with Arsenal hosting Real Madrid – it will be absolutely fascinating to see how Arsenal get on here; you’d have to say that they will need to take something to the Bernabeu to have a decent chance of getting through so the big question here is how attacking will Arteta be? That being said, Real Madrid are having some major issues at home at the moment – they lost last week to Real Sociedad in the Copa del Rey over 90 minutes but saved themselves in extra-time, then lost at home to Valencia at the weekend in a huge blow in the La Liga title race. You could say this fixture falls at an excellent time for Arsenal with Real really struggling at the back at the moment. For the last week it has looked quite easy to play through Real and at times they’ve been all over the place at the back – will Arteta have the confidence to attack? His main criticism this season has been he’s went into his shell!

That’s reflected in the data too – Arsenal have created less this season. That hurt them again at the weekend with a 1-1 draw away to Everton. The Premier League title race was already gone, but while you’d say this fixture falls at a good time for Arsenal just because Real are struggling – you’d hardly say Arsenal are flying! We have a reasonably open betting heat; Arsenal come into the game as the favourites at 2.4 with Real Madrid 3.35 and the draw is 3.4 at the time of writing. I have to say that 2.4 on Arsenal makes no appeal at all, even with Real struggling at the back. Real have a way of getting out of trouble in the Champions League; we’ve watched them do it time and time again. They did it to Manchester City already this season, and I just wouldn’t be rushing to take the 2.4 on Arsenal here. They haven’t been playing well enough to justify those odds in my opinion; they’ve been exceptionally solid at the back but they are missing that attacking flare up front. I’m going to keep stakes reasonably small here because obviously the recent results for Real are a major worry, but from a value point of view I’m very happy with the Arsenal lay.

The Ultra Says:
Two points lay (liability) Arsenal to beat Real Madrid at 2.4 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.

BAYERN MUNICH V INTER MILAN

8pm The blockbuster fixtures just keep coming – next we have Bayern Munich hosting Inter Milan. This should be a fascinating tie over the two legs! Both sides currently top their domestic table and it would be a surprise if they weren’t Bundesliga and Serie A Champions by the end of the season, but Inter have definitely left the door open with a draw at the weekend away to Parma. It’s possible that they had one eye already on this fixture, but it was a bitterly disappointing result with Parma in the Serie A relegation battle. It’s no surprise to see Bayern come into the game as favourites with home advantage. Bayern are trading 2.04 with Inter Milan 4.1 and the draw is 3.7 at the time of writing. Bayern have been exceptionally impressive this season – their average xG created in the Bundesliga is 2.17 and they have the best defensive figure in Europe with an average xG conceded of just 0.83. Inter have the joint-best attacking figure in Serie A with Atalanta, but they’ve been creating less than Bayern this season – that’s not surprising given the quality of opposition is higher in Serie A compared to the Bundesliga outside the top two.

Inter have come up short against the top sides away from home this season though. They drew 0-0 away to Manchester City and lost 1-0 away to Bayer Leverkusen at the Group stage. That 1-0 loss to Leverkusen flattered them because it could have been a much bigger loss; Leverkusen finished the game with an xG of 2.16 and dominated possession – Inter didn’t even have a shot on target. You wouldn’t be surprised to see Inter approach this game in a very cagey fashion; a draw would be a nice result for them here and get back to Italy for the second leg. I’m going to keep stakes reasonably small again here, but it’s hard to see past Bayern and I would marginally have them odds on. They are creating more, have home advantage and Inter have struggled in the big away games. Not only that, but Bayern have been exceptionally impressive at the back too. This should be a high quality game; it’s just a shame that they both kick off at the same time!

The Ultra Says:
Two points win Bayern Munich to beat Inter Milan at 2.04 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
