CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PREVIEW: The Ultra previews ATALANTA v CHELSEA and INTER MILAN v LIVERPOOL with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
ATALANTA V CHELSEA
8pm The Champions League returns on Betdaq Betting Exchange, and we have some cracking fixtures to enjoy this week! There’s no doubt that the highlight fixture of the week comes on Wednesday as Real Madrid host Manchester City, but we have some huge games on Tuesday night too. We kick the evening off in Italy – we actually have a big Serie A v Premier League night! Atalanta host Chelsea and Inter Milan host Liverpool too! We start with Atalanta hosting Chelsea, and this should be a very competitive game. Both sides come into the game with the same record – ten points from their opening five games leaves them sitting between 7th and 10th – no danger of missing out on the next stage, but obviously the aim is to finish as high as possible. Chelsea have had a poor run of things lately – they went into the “top of the table” clash against Arsenal as possibly the main title challenger. A draw was OK there, but since then they’ve lost 3-1 away to Leeds and drew 0-0 away to Bournemouth at the weekend. The Premier League is so competitive this season, those results meant they’ve fallen out of the top four for the time being.
This will be a tough away fixture for Chelsea, and while it’s understandable to see them as the favourites – it’s no surprise that there are plenty of layers and that they aren’t trading odds on. Chelsea are trading 2.2 with Atalanta 3.5 and the draw is 3.65 at the time of writing. Atalanta have been really struggling to get results in Serie A this season – they have the third best attacking figure but they sit in mid-table. They’ve really struggled to convert their chances, and just three wins from their 14 games doesn’t inspire confidence here. I have to say, this is a tricky game because you don’t really want to be on Chelsea at 2-2 – that price feels a little short – but it’s hard to have any confidence in Atalanta this season. They just aren’t getting over the line in games. I was a little surprised to see Over 2.5 goals as the favourite – obviously Atalanta are creating chances but they are having massive problems in front of goal and I don’t see Chelsea wanting this game to be too open. Chelsea have also been very good at the back; they have the third best defensive figure in the Premier League behind Arsenal and Manchester City. I do feel this game will be quieter than expected, and I’m happy with a small bet on Under 2.5 goals at 2.26.

INTER MILAN V LIVERPOOL
8pm We finish Tuesday night with the highlight fixture of the evening as Inter Milan host Liverpool. It’s another Serie A v Premier League clash! Arne Slot has been having a very difficult season as Liverpool manager this time, and it almost felt like a bomb went off at the weekend when Mo Salah spoke to the press after the draw with Leeds. Liverpool are in crisis – only two wins from ten Premier League games leaves them out of the title race before Christmas – ten points behind Arsenal. Salah is obviously unhappy with being left on the bench, and you’d have to wonder has Slot lost the dressing room? It will be fascinating to see how this all plays out – in my opinion Liverpool haven’t had any problems going forward this season, all the problems have been at the back. Once again, three goals conceded at the weekend highlights have sloppy they’ve been. Only Arsenal have created more chances in the Premier League – I can see where Salah is coming from when he says he feels the club has thrown him under the bus. All the issues have been at the back – it’s going to be fascinating to see what type of performance we get here.
Inter Milan have been playing some excellent football this season. Obviously the title race in Serie A is wide open at the moment, but Inter look like the best side. They have an average xG created of 1.89, which is the best attacking figure in Serie A this season, and they have the second best defensive figure with an average xG conceded of 1.09. They are title winning figures. Inter Milan come into the game as the favourites at 2.28 with Liverpool 3.35 and the draw is 3.75 at the time of writing. I have to say I felt we’d see Inter trading a little shorter here – they basically tick every box in my opinion. Superb performance levels, rock solid at the back, home advantage, and facing a Liverpool side in crisis. Slot just hasn’t sorted out the issues at the back, and if they likes of Leeds can bag three goals at the weekend, then Inter can get the job done here. I’m happy with a confident bet at 2.28.
The Ultra Says:
Three points win Inter Milan to beat Liverpool at 2.28 with BETDAQ BETTING EXCHANGE.
