BODO/GLIMT V MANCHESTER CITY

5.45pm The Champions League returns on Betdaq Betting Exchange, and we have a wonderful Tuesday night ahead! No doubt all eyes will be on Inter Milan hosting Arsenal as the headline fixture later in the night, but we kick off the evening with Bodo/Glimt hosting Manchester City. On paper, this is a massive miss-match but obviously Pep Guardiola is coming under immense pressure so the situation is very interesting at City at the moment. Could we say a few fans are becoming unhappy with Guardiola and thinking it’s time to move on? Three draws and a loss at the weekend in the Manchester Derby leaves City effectively out of the title race – if you thought Arsenal had one hand on the Premier League title, you might say that they almost have two hands on it after the weekend. City are in a good position in the Champions League though – they are sitting in fourth coming into this week and are in a strong position for the top eight. Additionally, they also have one foot in the Carabao Cup Final so it’s not on doom-and-gloom. Bodo/Glimt haven’t won a Champions League game this season, and as I said above, the gulf in class here is massive.

It would be a surprise of City didn’t win to be honest, and it’s no surprise that they come into the game as the odds on favourites. City are trading 1.43 with Bodo/Glimt 7.2 and the draw is 6.0 at the time of writing. Bodo/Glimt games in the Champions League have been very entertaining – Over 2.5 goals has collected in all but one fixture including their playoff to reach the Champions League. They are conceding an average xG of 1.94 which is exceptionally high, but they are creating a decent volume of chances too. Juventus won an entertaining 3-2 here, and while we might see some drama, it’s hard to see past a City win. I actually feel that the 1.43 is a very appealing bet to be honest – I felt we’d see City trading sub 1.4. I know they are going through a tough time domestically, but Bodo/Glimt are an average side – City did win 10-1 in the FA Cup Third Round recently as well so they usually put away the average sides. Over 2.5 goals has to be an option too, but that’s trading five ticks shorter than the City win so I’m happy to have a confident bet at 1.43 to start the evening.

INTER MILAN V ARSENAL

8pm We finish Tuesday night with the headline fixture of the Champions League this week as Inter Milan host Arsenal. Both sides are in very strong positions in their domestically leagues, but obviously Inter Milan have more work to do compared to Arsenal. Manchester City losing the Manchester Derby at the weekend left Arsenal with a chance to go nine points clear but they got held to a 0-0 draw later in the day against Nottingham Forest. I still feel that Arsenal have the Premier League title in the bag now, but what a cracker we have here. Inter have been fantastic in Serie A this season – they have an average xG created of 1.96 and an average xG conceded of just 0.96. They are title winning figures – very similar to Arsenal in the Premier League. Arsenal actually have the third best attacking figure in the Premier League with an average xG created of 1.73, but they have been better at the back with an average xG conceded of just 0.89. In a league as competitive as the Premier League, that defensive figure is exceptionally impressive. With Inter having home advantage, we should have an exceptionally competitive game here. It’s no surprise we have such an open market.

Arsenal come into the game as the favourites at 2.68 with Inter Milan 2.88 and the draw is 3.55 at the time of writing. Arsenal have a perfect six from six record in the Champions League this season, while Inter have already recorded two losses – they are still sitting in the top eight though. I feel if you offered Inter a draw here that they would take it – obviously it’s a massive advantage finishing in the top eight. You’d have to expect a reasonably cagey game here – I don’t think Arteta ever approach a game to have it massively open anyway. Both sides have been exceptionally solid at the back, and while there is a lot of attacking talent on the pitch, I feel we’ll have a reasonably quiet and tense game here. Under 2.5 goals is trading 1.93 and I have to say I was surprised to see it trading that high when I clicked into the market. Another option has to be the draw at 3.55 in what should be a very close game in my opinion, but I do feel the Unders option offers cracking value here and I’m happy with a confident bet at 1.93.
