TUESDAY IN EUROPE: The Ultra previews ASTON VILLA V PSG and DORTMUND V BARCELONA in the second legs of the Champions League Quarter-Finals both with a recommended BETDAQ bet.
ASTON VILLA V PSG
8pm It’s Champions League Quarter-Final second leg time on Betdaq Betting Exchange this week! We would usually say this is crunch time, but we had a lot of one sided first legs. It would take a huge turnaround to see any drama with PSG beating Aston Villa 3-1 in the first leg and Barcelona hammering Dortmund 4-0. The most positive person might say that both of those sides are away from home now, but given the gulf in class shown in the first leg it’s hard to see things turning around. We start the night with Aston Villa hosting PSG though, and the best hope of some drama here is an early Aston Villa goal – then it might get a little nervy for PSG. From a PSG point of view, you’d want this game to be as boring as possible, but they still come into the game as favourites to win in 90 minutes. PSG are trading 2.22 with Aston Villa 3.35 and the draw is 3.9 at the time of writing. As you would expect, PSG already have Ligue 1 in the bag so they have the advantage of fully focusing on the Champions League now. Aston Villa are still in a battle for a European spot in the Premier League, and they notched up another win at the weekend – it would have been a shock if they didn’t beat Southampton in fairness – that gives them a run of run Premier League wins though.
Villa have definitely been a little lacklustre in front of goal this season. Their average xG created has been increasing in recent weeks, but it’s still a mid-table figure at 1.46. It’s hard to see that attacking figure causing PSG any major issues – especially considering PSG have been a lot more solid this season since they’ve cleared out their star names to play more like a team. Obviously the acid test for PSG is the Champions League, because they are so far ahead in Ligue 1. After a slow start to the Champions League, they have been on fire since December – the only game not won was an incredibly unlucky 1-0 loss at home to Liverpool. It’ll be interesting to see how Villa approach this game because they have to chase it; usually they wouldn’t employ very attacking tactics. That should open the game up though, and Over 2.5 goals looks a nice bet at 1.69. However, I’m going to have a small bet on PSG at 2.22 – I feel for Over 2.5 goals to land they will have to do a lot of the running, and I actually feel that if Villa attack it will allow PSG to pick them off on the counter. Definitely a game for small stakes, but the 2.22 on PSG looks a good bet to start the Quarter-Finals.
The Ultra Says: One point win PSG to beat Aston Villa at 2.22 with Betdaq Exchange.

DORTMUND V BARCELONA
8pm We finish Tuesday night with Dortmund hosting Barcelona, and this one was put to bed in the first leg bar a monumental turnaround. Barcelona have a four goal lead, and given that Dortmund haven’t been at their best this season it’s just exceptionally difficult to see that being turned around. Indeed, Barcelona come into the game as the odds on favourites to win in 90 minutes. Barcelona are trading 1.9 with Dortmund 4.0 and the draw is 4.4 at the time of writing. From a Barcelona point of view, even similar to the PSG situation above, you want this game to be as boring as possible. Dortmund are the ones that are going to have to make the running and hopefully cause carnage. Of course, Barcelona famously turned things around against PSG in the Champions League – who could forget that – but as I said above, Dortmund haven’t even been playing superb football this season. When Barcelona shocked PSG, they had one of the best teams in the world at the time. Dortmund are sitting in eighth spot in the Bundesliga, and they are struggling for a European spot this season to be honest. They are six points off the top four so it’s going to be Europa League at best.
Barcelona are confidently ticking the games off in La Liga – another win at the weekend saw them keep their four point advantage over Real Madrid. They have the best attacking and defensive figure in La Liga this season so it’s hard to knock them being Champions again. Dortmund have the fourth best attacking figure in the Bundesliga, but they’ve been exceptionally sloppy at the back this season and that has been their downfall. We landed a confident bet on Barcelona to cover the handicap last week – that price was 1.92, and we’re getting just two ticks lower on the Barcelona win here. Very similar thoughts apply here as the above game; Dortmund have to make all the running here and I can easily see Barcelona picking them off on the counter. Especially with the amount of mistakes that Dortmund have been making at the back this season; they are mid-table in the Bundesliga for a reason. I’m happy with another confident bet on Barcelona.
The Ultra Says: Three points win Barcelona to beat Dortmund at 1.9 with Betdaq Exchange.
